Is 'almost' no kill good enough?
January 19, 2006 : 2:44 PM
Question from Jahn:
How do we deal with complacency about being 'almost' no kill? Our shelters' body barrels are only, figuratively speaking, one half or one quarter full.

In fact, our large shelters' leaders (of both government and privately run facilities) proudly talk to reporters, announcing how wonderful our statistics are.

< snip >

I don't think 'good enough' is good enough. Yet I'm beginning to get the feeling that whenever I advocate for a proactive idea, they're smirking at my naiveté. What's your advice about how to gain respect...and incite action?

Edited to add: I am looking for good articles to add to the shelter's website weekly or so people have more content to read, plus I hear the more you update, the better your hits are on search engines. If anyone has any articles they'd like to share here, please do!:-)
