1. A former coworker had a cat that was toilet trained

and their kitty used it her whole life (the cat died at 17). My dad trained his cat, Pippin, with one of those back in the '80s. All was going well until dad walked into the bathroom one night without turning on the lights, and nearly sat on Pippin while Pip was doing his thing. To make matters worse, Pippin was so startled that he fell in the john. That was the end of that!

not quite as bad as being shot at by a bb gun but still not pleasant.

3. I had a cat who wanted to use the toilet

this was my first cat and I was only 10 years old, needless to say I probably wasn't very good at cleaning the litter box for her. She would have easily learned, I think. The problem was, I didn't know about stuff like this. She tried to use the toilet and missed. Then she started using the shower as a toilet. I had to put a stop to that, so I turned the shower on, and she went back to the litter box.

If I had known what I know now about cats, she would have been toilet trained. However I haven't had a cat since who showed this inclination.

4. We tried it with one of mine, the late Lady Simone, and almost got there..

But Lord Bothwell surprised her on the can one night when she was down to the last "hole" (the trainer has a punch outs that you fill with litter, taking out the middle, then progressively larger rings, until you get rid of the trainer). She fell into the toilet at 3 am, and that, as far as she was concerned, was that.

Ever after, she had to be in the bathroom with me when I was doing my business to make sure *I* didn't fall in.

No matter how much fresh water I keep down, she always

just why is the toilet water the most desirable water on earth?

8. We always guess that it's because it's cold.

Here in Portland the water comes straight off the
mountain, the Bull Run watershed. It's icy cold.
Also, it's the freshest water in the house. I mean,
we flush how many times a day?

But yeah, I stopped yelling at her about it ages ago.
No sense fighting her. I can't win.
