Chillicothe, Ohio - Severely injured 6 week old JRT puppy needs rescue help ASAP

If somebody can track down this story, please post it.

I am e-mailing anyone and everyone concerning an injured JRT pup in our shelter. We picked him up on the side of a highway today after being thrown from a car. Whoever did this tried to crop his tail and botched it. It is truly hideous. His left, front leg has a badly displaced fracture just above the elbow. He is only about 6 weeks old and appears to be a purebred. I’m not great at determining breeds in puppies but I looked at JRT puppies on the internet and he looks exactly like them. The vet also thought he was a JRT. Our vet says he needs surgery to repair the fracture. We do not have the funds for the needed surgery so I am praying someone can help this little fellow out. If you are unable to help maybe you know someone who can. Please let me know if you can help or know someone else who may be able to. We are trying to keep him as comfortable as we can. He is on pain medication and medicine for hookworms and in a quiet, private room. Thank you.

If you want to see the photos, pm me with you e address.

1. What is a JRT?
Kicking for visibility. Poor baby. I'm caring for a litter of Bichon-Cocker puppies that were 6 weeks yesterday and I can't imagine how horrifying your baby's injuries must be. If I had money, I'd send it. Good luck!

4. Thank you.
I can't believe what people are capable of doing to animals. Or each other.

The Pet Fund

"The Pet Fund is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit association that provides financial assistance to owners of domestic animals who need urgent veterinary care. Often animals are put down or suffer needlessly because their owners cannot afford expensive surgery or emergency vet visits. Companion animal owners must often make the difficult decision to put an animal down or neglect urgent medical needs because of the costs involved. The purpose of the Pet Fund is
to work towards a future where decisions about companion animal medical care need never be made on the basis of cost."

United Animal Nations
http://www.uan.org/lifeline/index.html_
"The mission of LifeLine is to help homeless or recently rescued animals suffering from life-threatening conditions that require specific and immediate emergency veterinary care. We strive to serve Good Samaritans and rescue groups who take in sick or injured animals. In certain cases, LifeLine can also assist senior citizens and low-income families pay for immediate emergency veterinary care."
