I took Manilla to the vet today . . .
Manilla is not having a good day. First, I shove him in his cat carrier, which he hates. Then we go the vet's office, which is packed with very large dogs. The vet examined Manilla, determined that he was not underweight (I thought he was--actually he has gained some weight and is now up to 11 pounds) and gave Manilla a steroid shot for the spot of fur that he has been licking off. I also have to give him Clavomax for the next month. Poor Manilla. I'm sure that he hates me now.

2. Why is he licking his fur off?
I have a cat that has a mohawk down his back. He's licked off all the fur on both of his sides. Vet meds didn't fix the problem so now I'm working on changing his diet to better quality foods. Actually I'm changing everyones diet the only problem I'm having right now is that all the holistic diets that have been recommended I have to drive 60 miles or better to find them and my car is in need of tires, BADLY. So I dare not drive too far.

But at least I got the kitties off of cat chow and the dogs off of science diet.

5. I'm not sure why
he's been licking his fur off. He was doing it for a while a few months ago and I thought that he had stopped, but apparently I was wrong.
I hope that your kitty gets better with the new food.

He may resent the hell out of you right now:evilgrin: but he doesn't hate you;-)

If they only understood how much more this hurts us more than it does them :-(

Manilla Loves you :loveya: and he'll thank you later for it:bounce:
