Some people don't deserve the love their pets give them
Sorry for the rant, but it's past 1 am here and I just spent the last hour trying to chase down a loose dog whose owner is a real jerk. I was sitting at my computer when a yellow lab mix showed up in my yard sending my dogs into a tizzy. The dog was frantic, trying to get into my lanai, but when I opened the door, she ran off. I spent the next 45 minutes trying to coax her into my lanai area so I could read her tag and find her owner. Of course, I woke up my entire family in the process. I got her info and called the owner, only to have him hang up on me for calling "at this hour". He then called back a bit sheepishly when he realized his dog was gone and he asked for directions to come to get her. Once he drove up, I realized that I had seen him before. Last year, I called him from my cell phone when I found his dog, running loose on a busy road next to our development. When he showed up, the guy whistled for his dog and left without even saying thanks. Please think good thoughts for Marni - she is going to need them.

1. Wow
that was kind of you. I'd probably do the same though.

And what a jerk! Who doesn't say thank you????

2. He is a jerk!
He shows it in how he treats animals and humans, with no thought of anything outside himself. A miserable human being.

3. Same thing happend to us!
The kids found a stray dog with out-of-state tags. I was afraid it would get hit by a car, so we took him in. I started making calls and it turned out one of my neighbors happened to know that another one had a friend visiting and she thought the friend had a dog. I drove to that house, and though the lights were on and cars were there, no one answered, so I left a note.

Around 10:00 p.m., the person showed up at our door, seemed VERY annoyed and especially annoyed with the dog that he said he didn't want. Asked us if we wanted to keep him (we have two of our own) and then grabbed the dog and huffed off. Not a word of thanks for anything. I really should have kept the dog.

4. yep
some people should not be allowed to own pets. If you want a pet, you have to take care of it.
I think the same goes with kids. Too many people who shouldn't have them keep having them.

5. If It Happens Again . . .
please keep Marni if you can. Then we will all know she will finally be safe. I really hate people sometimes.
