Advice needed: cat keeps me up all night
Ruby has been keeping me up all night, meowing, walking on me, even knocking down stuff from my dresser, making me think it's Max. I think she's in heat again because she will not shut up! She keeps yowling, making weird yet piercing sounds and won't let me sleep! She's isolated in one room, where she can't get out. I want to open the window, but I'm afraid she'll escape on the roof and get out.

She just had her shots last week, and is scheduled to get her 3-in-1 booster in two weeks. Then she'll be scheduled for spay surgery.

I'm doing a babysitting job all this week--in my old house, where the kittens' father hung out!!!

2. Can you shut her in another room?
Probably won't shut her up, but at least she wouldn't be walking on you or knocking things off your dresser.

Unfortunately, if she's in heat, there's not much else you can do.

3. Shots schedule
is there any way you can get her spayed before you get the booster shot? Get spayed, wait a couple weeks then get the shot?

4. No. The SPCA requires the cat have her shots first
Actually, I think it's good policy. I had a cat who had his shots and neuter surgery at the same time. He hadn't been the same since. His behavior deteriorated; so I had to have him put down. O8)

5. Can you...as in are you able...to give her the shot yourself?
...because you CAN get the vaccine.
I got mine from one of the local ranch supply stores...then when they quit carrying the vaccine with the leukemia serum I went online and got it here:

http://www.shop.com/Pet+Supplies-a-cat+vaccine-st.shtml

This company was very good...sent it quickly and with an icepack to keep it cold and gave me a heads-up via email to let me know they'd shipped it.

---> My vet was using Focus Five (which has the leukemia serum), so that's what I used.
DON'T use this one unless your girl has been tested and shown negative for the feline leukemia virus.
Use the 3-in-1 like you planned...but according to my vet, she does need a month between first shot and booster.
Hope this helps...Kitty in heat is very frustrating for EVERYONE. :banghead:
