Interesting day yesterday at the livvy household.
I woke up early as usual, let the dogs out, let the dogs in, fed the dogs, then went into the other room to open the drapes for the cockatoo, and turn on the aquarium light for the corn snake. No snake. Snake gone. Escaped!

So I start the search for the snake, when I hear this commotion in the kitchen. Two of the dogs had decided they wanted to play with the cat and had him cornered under the kitchen table. All I can see is two large wiggling bouvier butts sticking out from under the table. So I rescue the cat, stick the two dogs in another part of the house, and let the third out of his eating area so I can get back to searching for the snake.

I'm tearing the living room apart searching for the snake, when I glanced back into the kitchen, to see the third bouv on the kitchen table. Yes, on it, reaching his head up to the top platform of the kitty tower slobbering all over the poor cat.

I spent most of the day, and night searching for this snake, with no luck. One would think a four foot, well-fed snake would be easy to find. Apparently not. So now my house looks like a tornado hit it, stuff pulled out of closets, furniture askew, and nothing, nothing in its place. That's today's job, putting the Humpty Dumpty house back together again.

The good news is, its very clean behind the refrigerator now and under the stove, and I know which parts of the house could use a little extra cleaning attention.
The bad news is still no snake.

1. Took 2 weeks and 40 people
to find an escaped 8 ft. boa constrictor. Also well-fed. They can get into VERY tiny places. And they can climb. I'll bet you haven't been looking UP, have you?

As for a bouv on the table...I'll never forget when I walked into the kitchen to find an 8 mo. old bouv pup on top of the refrigerator. (From food bucket to counter to refrigerator) Simply because one of the other dogs hadn't eaten all his breakfast and we put it up there to keep this specific pup out of it.

Or the one before that that learned to open the refrigerator...he'd pull on the door and the cat would sit on top and break the seal with her claws. Then they'd share whatever looked good.

Then there's Odile, the newest member of the household. She's learned (from us, not from Jake) that taking a treat out of Jake's mouth is not something to do. But Jake and Elwood are both nibblers, they like to contemplate their treats for 10 or 15 minutes before eating them. When all 3 got treats in the yard yesterday, Odile gobbled hers and then sat and watched the others not eat theirs. So she ran to the fence, all excited and barking like mad (nothing there, but she sure made it seem like there was). When the other 2 got up to go see what was going on, Odile swooped in and grabbed their treats.

2. My golden did a very similar thing to my first bouv.
I laughed so hard. She wanted the bone that Sophie had, and knew there was no way she could take it from her, so she barked at the back door, and when Soph went to investigate, swoop....and the bone was hers.

These furpals are a lot smarter than some give them credit. My guys haven't figured out how to get the refrigerator open yet. They're still working on how to get the ice maker to give them ice.

I think I figured out where the snake went. In putting the living room back together today, I found a spot in the fireplace wall where the mortar is missing. Not sure if she could fit through, but I think there's the possibility she could. I guess I'll just have to keep looking, and hope she turns up when she gets hungry or thirsty. I've got the top to her aquarium propped open and a nice, fresh, tempting water supply available.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I really like the slithery thing!

4. I had 2 7-foot boa constrictors and they could
do a great disappearing act.

7. Did they always eventually show up?
I know they can go a long time without food, so I'm not so worried about that.

5. Wait for a cool night and you
might find the snake in bed with you.

We had a python that disappeared one May. Tore the house apart looking for Boots much like you did, I even sent the boys looking under the crawl space. Never did find him. After a month of so gave him up for gone. Fast forward to fall and the first crisp cool night and my step-son finds Boots in his bed. He was happy (we all were) but only fair it was his bed the snake crawled into since it was his snake.

6. I'd be delighted! I'm hoping she'll get thirsty.
She actually drinks quite a bit of water. I left a bowl out by where I think she might have gone. I'll check it frequently tonight.
It's been pretty warm here since she escaped, so although she's probably not at her comfy 80 degrees, she's most likely not gotten too chilled.
Your story is so funny. I bet he was really surprised!

9. Hope she turns up soon.
The step son was thrilled since we all had given up on ever seeing Boots again. We did have people afraid to visit for the night after they learned a snake was liable to show up in their bed.

11. I know what you mean....
I have friends that won't come over period, just because I have a snake. Works for me... I've done enough entertaining to last me a lifetime, and I never have liked drop in guests!

(means 'red one'...and grass snakes are...well...green)

and his two geckos; Artie and Roman.

10. Got to give the credit to the
kid on that one. I thought it was a great name. He always said if he got another one it would be named Belt.
