:hi:
...so I give my kitties their shots myself.
All except the rabies...that the vet
has to give, because it's a live virus.
Got my supplies at a local ranch supply store, then they quit carrying the Focus Five (which has the leukemia vaccine as well as the panleukepenia, rhinotracheitis, chlamydia, and psittaci) :yoiks:
Went online and found it for $8.50 per dose (included the syringe as well) at Shop.com.
Thought that was pretty reasonable...
http://www.shop.com/Pet+Supplies-a-cat+vaccine-st.shtmlThey also carry the serum without the leukemia vaccine. You'll want to have them tested before giving them the one with it.
I'll cop to being obsessive about this...lost an absolutely amazing cat to leukemia when he was only four years old, and that was one too many.
Do check with your vet before proceeding...
...but depending on how long ago your kitties had their shots, they
may need a shot, then a booster one month later. Then they'll be good for the next year, and will only need one dose yearly.
For their rabies shots, they'll need a booster after they're a year old, and then they'll only need it every three years.
