Ugh - I found five abandoned kittens today
who all had matted eyes and runny noses and were really weak. I used a warm compress on each of their eyes and noses and tried to feed them some formula but they didn't want to/couldn't eat and just got weaker and weaker in front of my eyes. Off to the vet. He took them and said he didn't think things looked good. Said he'd call after he figured out what to do. He hasn't called. I don't think they're gonna make it.

1. Poor little babies. Thanks to you, they now have a chance.
You're a champ for rescuing them. If they don't make it, at least their last hours were in a safe, caring environment. Good on you.

5. The vet's face and his
'I'll call you and let you know what happens' doesn't sound promising.

I agree, though. I even told my husband I'm glad I found them today rather than finding what may have been left of them in a couple of weeks.

Poor dears.

2. Good work, Debi.
You did all you knew how to do and took those babies where they can get the best help available. The good thing about kitties is that they have no knowledge of their mortality--that's why they never give up. Thank you for giving them a chance. You are an angel.

3. God bless you, Debi
how heartbreaking. Sometimes it is a matter of the mom just being temporarily gone, but it sounds like from their condition when you found them that something had happened to her. I know that the warmth of their moms body is invaluable to their well being, so I hope the doc put them in with a heating blanket.

4. I had them wrapped in fleece and in a box
but I doubt that was enough. Still haven't heard from the vet. I'll call in the morning.
