A funny chicken dilemma
I live on a farm which is adjacent to my sister's farm. I have two little dogs, mutts with pomeranian and some terrier in them. Jan, my sister, brought home three hens and a bunny from her daughter's house. My little dogs won't leave their side! They sleep outside the fence and the smallest dog touches noses with the bunny and seems to think it is her sister. Zoey, my dog, is absolutely obsessed with these new creatures! To make matters worse the neighbor across the road has three Roosters that are free to roam and they are visiting the girls anytime someone is not outside.......and crowing all the time! My three cats are stalking all of them! It is a happy zoo around here and my sister is soon bringing over her old horse (24) to give him a quiet and nice place to spend his last days.

At 55 this is a treat for me, when we were kids we never had farm animals except for some turkeys for thanksgiving, and I never liked them very much. When we get through we will have 3 cats, two dogs, three red hens and two horses, plus our visiting neighbors roosters. All I can think of is "Animal Farm", I hope there isn't a revolt.

you forgot the cats! I won't tell them that you forgot them, so long as you post the photos soon. ;)

9. All cute, but I LOVE the roosters
I have this thing for them. I am in love with the Bantam that belongs to my neighbor. He's one cool dude.

6. What great pictures. Your animal family look very happy
and healthy. Now all you need are pigs and a couple goats.

13. Wow what a gorgeous spot. Don't need any geese, either.
I hear they will eat plants, too. Thanks for the pictures.

8. Just curious, how much work is required with chickens & roosters?
And do they smell?

10. There isn't much work that I can see....
There is also no smell with just a few. You have to pick up the eggs every day and give them some fresh straw etc. They are great watch animals. Anyone who comes near gets announced. I like them so far.

11. Oh that would be a real drag, fresh eggs
LOL. I know about the sentry part, I can here my rooster going off at all times of the day. Actually it is very comforting.
