some energy, please
We have two elderly cats, (and 3 younger ones)...

Kudra is 22 and doing pretty good for her age.

Dutchess is 20, and not doing so good. She stopped eating yesterday, she's still drinking water. We brought her to the vet last week, when we noticed she was "stumbling" - nothing major wrong, just old age and she's lost alot of weight. Since Dutchess is my partner's cat, it's her decision as to what to do.

we are going to try to tempt her with some tuna tonight, if she won't eat on her own, we'll try a little force feeding. I fear it's a bit futile, but we will try.

I need some energy to either help my partner make the right decision, or energy to help Dutchess cross the rainbow bridge on her own.

2. Good energy and vibes for Duchess.
20 is a good, long life for a cat. I know ou and your partner will do the right thing for her, whatever that might be.

4. Oh hugs Radfringe
I know what you are going through, my almost 18 y/o senior is getting more demented by the day. He decided to stop eating the canned urinary diet food he loved, so I've resorted to cooking him chicken. It's the only thing he will eat. It's quite sad to see him slide downhill.

Sending you vibes of course, hoping the Dutchess is comfortable.

6. Vet is going on vacation on Thursday
Dutch is going in tomorrow, instead. I'll be taking day off, partner can't because she's a temp and no sick/vacation time to take.

9. I am sorry that you will have to say goodbye to your furbaby...but it would
be so sad to have to look back and realize that you extended her life, and she had been suffering during that time.

I hope she has a peaceful trip..surrounded by those who love her.

 for both of you. You'll meet up with Duchess again someday and yes, you absolutely did the right thing.

There is no reason to keep a beloved pet alive when they are suffering.

Alas, no more pain for Duchess. May you get better soon too!
