Addison's disease.
Between the monthly medication and blood check-ups, I'm looking at $100.00 a month to keep my pet alive. Anyone else know of cheaper medications for this affliction?

1. I give prednisone to my dog, Andrew, and he has a checkup once every three monts
for blood draw. He has a shot every 25 days for his electrolytes. It costs about 17$ for the shot and 12$ every two months for the prednisone. The test is
more expensive but only once every three months. Talk to your doctor. Also, carecard is what I use for my dogs. They had operations, shots and other disasters and it saved me cash up front. Hugs, honey. I wish you well.

2. I wonder if my shots are more expensive because my dog is heavier?

4. Wish I had good news for ya, but its expensive.....
we had a family member (poodle) that had addisons for 10 yrs before she passed away. I dont remember it being that "that" expensive though. We also had to give her weekly shots for her allergies. There were two other maladies that had to be treated, but I've forgotten what they were. We always joked that she was our problem child. Before she died, our vet bills for her alone were over $8000 and we never bemoaned one penny of it.

Good luck with your baby. PM me if I can be of assistance.
