acrobat kitties
Since they got back from ten days at the kennel, all my cats want to do is climb. From the top of the fish tank to the fireplace mantle, from the desk to the top of the bookcase,to the top of the door, and even to the top of the tool shelves in the basement and onto the basement window ledge. The top of the refrigerator isn't adventurous enough anymore! The reason: they were in a cat room at the kennel which is outfitted with ramps and shelves six or more feet off the ground and they apparently loved it. Whenever they were allowed out of their cages for "free time" they must have had a blast. We were told that at minimum they were free through every night. During the day they shared a large two-story cage and had alternate free times trading off with the two other cat families there. No big problem, just thought it was an interesting happening.

Does anyone know if you can buy ramps and shelves like that? It would be fun to put one up somewhere for them in an out of the way spot. I think we could probably make one with wood and some rubber stair treads.
