Every single cat I've ever had was always curious about whatever I had in my hand to eat and wanted to at least inspect it.

They were babies then. I think you had the Mommy and Daddy and two or three babies. they were all gorgeous...and the pictures were exquisite.

Little Ping is maybe near 7 pounds while Pong is easily 15-16 pounds today.

I don't mean littermates/siblings, but monozygomatic (or whatever the two-from-one-fertilized-egg term is) twins...
Even their facial markings look the same...

15. Are they twins?

I never thought of that but they probably are not twins. Ping is female and the first born. Pong is male and was born 46 hours after Ping. Their marking are very nearly identical though.

If the family didn't grind the rinds entirely in the disposer, the cat would jump into the sink at night and fish them out to chew on.

16. Yes, I have kept the cat family together.

Two kittens were lost early after the second week. The 3 surviving kittens suffered with symptoms of pneumonia through their first 12 weeks and to this day they have an asthma like cough. Little Ping was sent out on a trial adoption but it didn't take and she was returned after one week. Pong I had listed for adoption but turned down the only one application I received for him. Pong is a little bit of a problem now lately because he has started "thumping on" and intimidating his Daddy who isn't nearly as big as his only male offspring.

7. A cat after my own heart and smart it seems.

I hate the smell of bananas. I buy them for my grandson but turn my head when I slice them for him. I'll be glad when he is old enough to do it himself.

11. Try them on oranges!

Man, you want to see a cat in high dudgeon, have him smell an orange peel. You'll get the dirtiest look you've ever gotten and then he'll sulk for at least half an hour.

Orange peels are the perfect things to keep kittens from digging in house plant soil. Just a few of them on top and the kittens will give the plants a wide berth as they walk around the room. They're also good outdoors to discourage a neighbor cat from relieving itself in the garden.

Just replace them every few days as they dry.
