4. You can whisper to cats all you want. It won't do you any good.

I like to watch Cesar also. But remember, he always finds the problem is not with the dog, but with ... the people.

She just melts and is so happy.

talk to him. He likes the exchange of it. He makes some noise, I make some noise. Fair exchange to him, I guess.

7. Yes, and they do develop a small vocabulary

of words. Unfortunately, those are hard wired some time in kittenhood, so I've had one rescued kitty who only understood Spanish. I adapted. Fortunately, "NO!" is the same in both languages.

Whispering sounds too much like a hiss to a kitty and the kitty wonders what s/he did wrong if you whisper instead of speak.

8. The way I whisper to my cat is when we're nose to nose, or

she's on my lap or on my shoulder. She knows it's just for her, that I'm not talking to anyone else. She loves it. She goes into some kind of deep relaxed state and just melts. I wish I could relax that completely.

Otherwise, I talk to her in a normal voice.
