Here is my Craigs list post with pics of the kitties who need a home.
http://eastoregon.craigslist.org/pet/1852153311.html

They are both small and short haired. Both are spayed. They are used to living with a disabled person so are wonderful about not getting under your feet even when you have their food bowl in your hands. Both are very loving and like petting and attention but they don't sit in your lap or want to be carried around. It's actually very nice because they are not high maintenance cats. My cousin could not carry them around or walk well so they were raised to be pretty independent (duh, they are cats). Good purrers and love to chase bugs!!!

I talked to a woman at Petco today and she is going to try to help me find someone who could foster them but she said that they are having the same problems as every other place, too many people out of work and out of their homes and having to leave their pets. Sigh....

1. What about a nursing home or adult care facility?
Just throwing that out there, since these kitties are already trained to deal with the vagaries of disabled humans...
and having a cat about the place really can perk up a lot of the residents.

Good luck...

3. OregonBlue, they are lovely kitties.
Here's a link to a story about a hospice program (not exactly what you are looking for) maintained by Tails High, a local rescue group. I'm posting it because it may inspire administrators at any nursing homes you contact to see how beneficial the relationship could be.

5. I hope you can find a home soon for the cats, they are very pretty cats
I feel so bad for pets and owners today, so many people are losing their jobs and homes and having to give up their pets. I feel fortunate that I have a job so I can keep my babies.
