My new rescued Cat

I lost my 17 year old kitty this past summer and initially wanted to take a "cat break" so to speak. Well, after a few months of being catless I realized that I really missed having a puddy tat flying around. A few years ago I started to volunteer at a cat shelter and I knew that my next monster would be coming from there. Last Wednesday I stopped by to scout for prospects and ran into the big boy in the picture. He's 4 or 5 years ago and was returned to the shelter all the way from New Jersey! (I'm in California). The reason the cat was returned was because the couple that owned him just had a child and the cat started acting up. :eyes: So they put him on a plane and flew him back to L.A.! :eyes:

He was in the social room as we call it. These are where cats that are the most adoptable (non scratchers or biters) stay. He snuggled right up to me and after a bit, he rolled over and let me give him a big 'ole belly rub - I was sold.

And there you have it. Another rescued cat.

Just thought I'd share.

5. What a beautiful boy! I hope you will have many, many happy
years together. Sounds like you're off to a good start. He looks very much like my boy, Oscar, who lived in an animal shelter for over a year before I took him home. He was a nanny to all of the kittens in the shelter, giving them baths and letting them snuggle with him. Now he is a big old sweet uncle to my youngest cat. Here is a picture of both. BTW, he was a fully developed adult before he was neutered, and has a huge tomcat head/chest. Your boy doesn't look as portly as Oscar, but they have the same face mask on different sides.

6. The one on the right
Has awesome coloring. My black and white boy has similar markings to the one on the left.

7. The best cats are the one who pick you out of a human lineup
and it sounds like this guy did exactly that. It'll take him a couple of months before he realizes all the way down to his gut that he's got a new human and a new home, but when he does it will be pretty spectacular.

I love tuxedo kitties. Oh, who am I kidding? I love all kitties.

10. Always good to have a kitty with a little life experience.
He looks hip! Good luck with him. We adopted a 3 year old and a 5 year old two years ago and have no regrets whatsoever. Thanks for volunteering!
