Time to post an easy to make winter shelter for the feral/stray kitties...

Easier to keep clean than a wooden one. I had one container I wasn't using, and a neighbor was throwing a slightly smaller one out because the bottom was cracked. You can find them cheaper than what the plans show. I used straw for insulation, packing it in between the containers, and then on top of the smaller one.

The ferals seem to really like this. I need to make a couple more, as there are two more beggars this year.

2. Yes, I have a female feral that has used it for the last three years...

One of these days, I hope to trap her and bring her inside. She is getting quite old, but she is very smart and won't go into a trap to feed...still trying.

Anyway, last year I had a couple males show up. They seemed to take turns using this shelter. So, I need to make a couple more. I do have also have a wooden shelter, but they prefer this type...probably because it's more out of the wind/snow, and closer to the food supply.
