Escape Artist Cat!

So, we got a new puppy about two weeks ago. He in the middle of his potty training. Him as well as us, so we go out the door... a lot. He has to run a cat gauntlet every time we go out.

My female tortie, Nancy, just loves to slip out the door any opportunity she gets. I'm tired of running after her and coaxing her from under the porch, our cars...

Sigh. It's a small house. Short of lockine her in the bedroom I'm at a loss. I am keeping them indoors (It's the glassed in porch where the cats like to spend most of their time.

Any ideas for my little Houdini?

edit: Sunday, in the front yard, she confronted a Deer that could make about 20 of her! :rofl:

Or there was an ep of My Cat From Hell on Animal Planet in which they put up shelving near the door so the cat could perch and look out without being able to easily jump out, and the cat liked it and stopped trying to follow the owner out.
