Dear Friends,

My name is Michael Mayo. I’m a writer who’s loved animals all my life, and I’ve finally written a book about animals and people that I think is unique. It’s called, as you can see from the picture of the book cover above, “The Adventures of Alex Walker: Alex Walker and the Circus of Secrets.” It’s about a young boy traveling with his mother with a small circus who discovers he can talk to animals and understand them. Because of this, the animals think that Alex is their long-prophesized messiah who will help free them of man’s cruelty. Alex’s teacher in this task is an immortal old dog and the dog’s two self-appointed sidekicks, Max the Macaw and Sasha the Siamese cat. The series travels all across America, from its smallest towns to brightest cities, and explores the dilemmas of life: where to live, how to live, how being in love can change everything, and what happens when you face a bad situation you may not be able to change without making it worse. I’ve tried to write the stories so that they have a balance of action and reflection, humor and seriousness, and thoughtful emotions. Although the main characters are children, like the “Harry Potter” series, I hope I’ve written the stories so that they appeal to all ages.

Because I’m self-publishing this book, I know the odds are hard that people will easily learn about this book, so since your group is one devoted to animals and helping them, I wanted to let you know about this book. I know the book is not going to be for everyone, but I genuinely believe that this is a book that anyone who loves animals will enjoy. You can find it as an eBook and as a trade paperback on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. I hope you will pass along this message to the members of your group, and tell them they are welcome to ask me any questions or make comments at michaeldmayo@gmail.com. I’ve lived with this book and the ones to come for a long time now, and hope you will enjoy visiting Alex’s world as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.

All best,

Michael Mayo

Simi Valley, Ca.
