So sad this morning one of my foster kittens died..
I posted this in the lounge. Poor little thing died in my arms. I am a basket case. I knew this was part of the deal of being a foster but I don't know if I can handle this. I didn't even have a chance to name her.

1. I'm so sorry...
...I can only imagine how painful that was for you. What were the circumstances?

2. Actually the count is now two..
I don't know we are thinking maybe distemper. It's so hard to know. The kittens seemed okay. I was watching them because one had thrown up yesterday. I was doing everything per our rescue guidelines. Anyway, this morning I went downstairs and one was laying on it's side, not moving. I picked her up and she was making little noises and barely breathing. I wrapped her in a towel and she died. The other kitten seemed fine and then died on the way to the animal hospital.

The other four are at the hospital being cared for.

7. Oh, that's awful!
I'm so sorry-how terribly heartbreaking! I'm dreading experiencing the same with some of my kittens, especially since there's a new strain of distemper going around. Please do let us know how the others are doing and what your vet discovers.

One of my fosters died a week ago after throwing up. He was at our adoption center at PetsMart when it happened. He threw up, then died less than a hour later. He was only a year old and seemed so healthy. Pest in peace, George.

3. Oh, I'm so sorry
If you can, try to take comfort in the fact that they both died warm and safe and comfortably and in the company of someone who cared about them. I'm very sorry for you and your kitties.

6. I am so sorry for your loss
I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that the kitten died in your arms instead of cold and alone somewhere. Bless you for taking in these fosters and giving them a chance. You did your best and that is all you can do.

8. Very sorry to hear of your loss
I think she was in a very good place when she went.

what greater thing can any being have on Earth, than to be loved? I think you did great with her.

The death part was certianly out of your hands.

resign your destiny to a higher power."

I'm positive you would have saved her if you could of. Regardless of your religion or none, I think this one belongs to the universe.

10. I'm so sorry to hear this. Sometimes it happens but at least it
wasn't alone. It was with someone who loved it. Take solace in that, honey. I am sure the kitten did.
