Yesterday, My Wife & I Had BLT's
While we were both out of the kitchen for a second the dog stole, (are you ready for this?) the LETTUCE!

Didn't take the bacon or the sliced peppered turkey! Just stood on his hind legs, and ate all the lettuce out of the bowl! Didn't pull the bowl down, either. There might have been 2 oak leaf sized pieces left on the floor. I told him to finish them, and he did.

No bacon, no bread, no turkey, no tomatoes. Just the lettuce! I knew he liked vegetables, but that's ridiculous! No?

1. Cute!
My dogs love vegetables and fruit especially carrots and green beans. Your story reminds me of a dog a neighbor had years ago. His name was Atlas. He would go into their garden and help himself. Once I saw him chomping away at a head of cabbage :-).

2. My Dog Will Scream At Me Over Uncooked Carrots
Right in my face barking at the top of his lungs if i don't give him a carrot when i'm eating them.

He likes everything but uncooked celery, broccoli and cauliflower. He'll eat them all cooked, though. I think they must feel weird on his tongue or something.

I just find it odd that he passed on bacon, turkey and bread in favor of lettuce. He's a poindexter. Big, but a nerd.

3. What is it about carrots?
If my dogs are upstairs and hear me scraping them, they come down and sit at my foot and they are drooling!

It is weird though, that your dog passed on the meat :-).

7. That's What I Thought Too!
Now, if he had been given an extra 5 minutes, he probably would have taken it, too! But, either way, he took lettuce FIRST!

8. That's funny Professor
I recently switched my female dog to a soy based diet (only 50% soy based) to help with her incontinence, and she eats with much more gusto than she did when she was on a 100% meat based diet. Maybe they were rabbits in their last lives?
