Is my cat the only one who likes corn on the cob?
I just had my first corn of the year. And the moment I dehusked it, Bart knew exactly what was in store. He loves corn on the cob. He's my corn cob cutie. I have no idea why he likes it, and Farnsworth, my other cat, doesn't. But I had to share this picture from last year.

Out of fairness, I better show my latest picture of Farnsworth. I think I got a good shot.

1. I used to have a cat who liked it.
The late, lamented Charles, a big fluffy orange cat whe went to the big catnip patch in the sky a few years ago, at the age of 21. He loved it. But he liked the husks even more, and would beg for them. Go figure.

2. Now that's weird.
Haha.
21! I can only imagine.
I can only visit this forum on rare occassions. More frequently and I'd explode from love and fluffy cuteness.

:)

6. Oh no. We have a new cat fad.
I couldn't catch the perfect corn on the cob face. It's like he's in a bliss.

5. I'm cooking some fresh corn on the cob right now!
My first of the year also. I'll offer some to the gang and see if they go for it.

Do you use alot of butter on your corn?

7. Well, to be honest, I don't cook my corn.
I love it raw. It's something I usually don't admit, because for some reason people really frown on it. It's like cheating, or something. Oh yeah, no butter.

It's really cat-dependent. I have special weeds here that Farns rolls around in. And Bart can't stand them. Funny world we live in.

8. We had a half-Siamese tuxedo cat named Charlie
who loved corn on the cob. He would eat the corn and then chew on the cob. (No pics - this was before digital cameras).

Here I thought he was the only one.

9. Mine might go for the butter
She wants some of whatever has dairy products involved - cereal, pizza (licks the cheese), buttered muffins. She reaches out a little paw and tries to waylay the food between plate and mouth, as if we won't notice.

11. My cats usually liked corn on the cob.
I had a siamese that would eat cucumbers and muskmelon. Mostly the seedy area, but not the seeds.

12. I had a cat who loved creamed corn from the can. It saved
him once when I had to hospitalize him for a severe and rare thyroid disorder and he was so scared he refused to eat for several days. They asked for my permission to hook him up to IVs and I asked if I could bring over creamed corn and tuna, his 2 favorite foods, in the hope of convincing him to eat before resorting to this. They agreed, took the food then sent me away. Later they called to say they had given him a pile of creamed corn with tuna on top of it (they didn't know better than to mix them) and he promptly wolfed it down anyway. So the treatment proceeded and he ultimately lived for 5 more years to the ripe old age of nearly 19.
