A girl and her cat...

Practically ever since our daughter Lizzie came home from the hospital, The Great Pumpkin accepted her into the feline community of our house (which doesn't always happen -- my parents' cat was never too fond of me as a little kid). Needless to say, Pumpkin has become her favorite.

A few evenings ago, we found Lizzie asleep in our bed, where she had been reading. As you see, her friend had joined her...

Cats know when someone has been ill. My cat Lucifer (an orange and white) took to my father's bed after we found out he had cancer. That little guy would stay with him all day and keep him company, only going out at night.

7. should I mention

that when my dad was dying my aunt's cat came, jumped on my dad and lay on his legs and slept. Cats sure do know when they are needed. Hell, that cat even kept sleeping on my dad AFTER he died (we had him with us a whole day before we had to let him go forever).
