Could pain cause a kitten to pee outside his box?

I've been told that the cat or kitten will associate the pain (of urinating. etc.) with the litter box and they will go outside.

2. Urinary/bladder infections are less likely in males than |

females, and UTI's are the most common cause of pain during urination. Still, I'd take him to the vet ASAP.
