A week or so later:

1. They are both very handsome fellas!
This photo on the bottom left is so sweet. And the bottom right should be titled "Still Life with Grapes and Siamese."

I think there are enough great animal photos here in this forum that a calendar could be put together to raise money for animal rescue groups.

ok- back on topic.
Yes, they do grow fast.

14. The expression on Jesse's face in the lower one is great. Like a little
kid having to let his Mom clean his dirty face with her spit-covered tissue. I am sure you have seen it a hundred times in a mall or in the street. I just love it.

7. Awww...thanks ralps!
It's funny, I really wasn't familiar with Maine Coons when I got Oberon. He looked almost like a shorthaired cat then (and he was almost as big as most adult domestic shorthairs at four months). After I brought him home, I Googled Maine Coons to learn more about them. I just couldn't imagine my little shorthaired Obie becoming one of those hairy beasts, lol! Oh well-long or short, I love him either way. :-)

13. I wish I had some of Miro!
My mom found him when he was about six months old.I was interning at Disney at the time, and couldn't keep pets in the company housing. Peewee and Miro stayed with my mom for another eight months until my internship ended, so he was already an adult when I picked him up. :-(

LOVE your pics of Nikko and Jesse. I've saved many of them, and plan to show them to people who adopt one of our rescues but are discouraged with the first few days of introduction to their established pets. :-)

9. Awe. I need to look at stuff like this.
It's a happy drug to me.

Love all the pics!

I'm especially partial to the siamese as I have one, and the kitty further down on the printer that grew bigger.

10. yeh, i've now become partial to siamese too
Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 10:19 AM by newsguyatl
jesse has been an absolute joy to have around... not that nikko hasn't, but he doesn't have a tenth the sweetness and affection jesse has.

they balance each other well, but the siamese characteristics totally ring true... and i'm loving every minute of it.

IF if i were to get another cat in the far away future, i'd almost definitely get another siamese.

their personalities matched only by their beauty.

16. The thing about Siamese...
Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 07:05 PM by regnaD kciN
...is that they can easily turn into one-person cats, totally attached to their chosen human and suspicious of anyone else.

I went through that with Tari (who was actually a Balinese, i.e. longhair Siamese). For many years, she was my wife's personal feline and kept me at arm's length. Then Lizzie (our daughter) came along, my wife was suddenly occupied with her much of the time, so Tari decided, on reflection, that I wasn't so bad after all, and started dividing her "I want your total attention now" time equally between the two of us.

20. Most of the ones I have are 35mm rather than digital...
...and I haven't had a chance to scan them yet.

Here's the first digital one I took (actually with a DV camcorder, long before I had a digital camera), which I used on her "memorial" page on my website:

And here's the last photo I took of her, about four months before she died, sharing a pillow with Lizzie:

18. What a great thread y'all made me smile
after a horrendous week with cranky clients, a sick cat and an auto accident. Thanks! I NEEDED that...speaking of which I need to take pictures of my 2LiveCrew also.

We just refer to all four of them as the "posse," it's like a rodeo in here!! Moe goes home to Pittsburgh in a couple of weeks with my daughter, and we will miss him. Both kittens are a joy, and total lap cats. The original names have stuck, mine is Flummi (German for superball) and Moe is my daughter's boy. We've had a riot making up goofy names for him, Moe-man, moe-money, moe-betta, etc.

I'll try to get some photos of the guyz tomorrow.

28. brudda Moe-man is still here until Aug 15th.
then we're ALL going to miss him.

They are a riot these two! But the Daemon really loves Flummi, so it was a good pick to keep him. We think Larry and Moe will get along fine, how couldn't they?

Now she just needs a Curly. LOL.

25. Personally I think they always have a growth spurt
when they are welcomed into a home where they are loved. I got Pad Thai at 5 months, and even though the previous owner fed him well it seems a week after I got him he just grew and grew!

Lily was a tiny little mite when I got her, weighing in at just one pound. They do grow fast!

30. Actually when I had them as youngsters (ages now are 7 and 14)
I didn't have a digital camera. I took a few of Pad Thai with a not so good web cam. I'll try to dig those up over the weekend and post them separately.
