Draft Dean DNC Chairman letter?
Please view this letter. I want to do everything in my power to get Dean the DNC chair. Should I contact DC chairs, just my local MD chairs, or both.
Here's the letter:
"Dear Chairman McAuliffe,
As a registered Democrat, I ask you to please consider nominating Howard Dean as chair of our great Party. Dr. Dean?s record as Vermont Governor was outstanding in regards to fiscal responsibility, human rights, health care, and environmental conservation. During the 2004 campaign, he proved a formidable presidential candidate. As ?People-Powered Howard,? he excelled in encouraging young people, like me, to become more interested in the voting process and the Democratic Party. When he lost the nomination, he campaigned vigilantly for John Kerry. His great grassroots effort, Democracy For America, helped to nominate many progressive candidates to local offices across the country this election cycle.
With Howard Dean as Chairman, I believe that our Party can reenergize our base with traditional Democratic values, while bringing in young voters.
Yours truly,
"----"(my real name)
Registered Democrat from Maryland?s Sixth District"
Should I go into more detail about Dean's record and his help with the DFA?
Thanks Y'all

1. That's a good letter. But this is posted at the blog...

so maybe only send it to your reps?

Finally, you can help the campaign by writing letters to the editor of your local newspaper in support of Gov. Dean. Please do not write letters directly to DNC members. Letters to DNC members who you don't know personally are not the most effective way to help Governor Dean's campaign.

Thank you for everything you do. We can't win this campaign without your help.

then, in the blogPAC call, Dean says this...

Jerome: What's the deal with asking people not to write letters? Howard: I'm really asking people not to contact DNC members outside of their own states. DNC members like the personal letters, but don't need a deluge. Go ahead and contact your state members but don't overwhelm anyone else; they have work to do. Also says that the DNC members he's heard from appreciate the letters.

2. Thanks, I'll follow what the doctor orders.
Only contact MD reps., but I can't resist sending one to McAuliffe, too.
Blessings,
Elshiva
