I feel like we're being set up
There's no way they'll let someone for the people like Dean get some power when they could give it to an appeaser like Frost.

3. I sort of agree as well. Like a last minute candidate popping in.

7. Clintons already asked Clark to run for DNC Chair to stop Dean and the
neophyte Dem said "No." I think he wants to keep his options open for running for Prez in 2008.

5. the "dean takes early lead" headlines give me that
here we go again feeling.

truly I was DONE with the democrats after 2000, I still like Gore but the party as a whole, no.
Dean really sucked me back in, straight talk and a man of convictions. He is a little more centrist than my ideal but chalk that up to reasonable difference of opinion.

If he takes the DNC chair I will probably remain a dem, if not im out.

6. Yeah, I have that old, sick feeling.
Though Dean must think he has a pretty fair chance or he wouldn't pursue it. He's been there and done it too.

The Democratic Powers that Be aren't going to give up willingly unless they have no other option. It looks like they have one in Frost, who while not a bad guy is a rather ordinary candidate when conditions demand an extraordinary one, like Dean.

It won't bother me if Dean doesn't get DNC chair though. It will be the Democratic party's loss and perhaps other and better types of opportunities will open up for him and progressive folk like us.

8. What the Clintons and the RW Dems want is a puppet and Dean won't be that
for them. Dean really wants to reform the Dem Party from the ground up and that terrifies the Corporate Dems because they don't want us peasants to take power and boot them out.

9. My hope is
that the corporate dems will realize that they either put a strong leader in the position, or the whole party just rolls over and dies. I think the party is (hopefully!) now beyond being able to do just enough to survive. There's no one else I'd rather have in that spot than Dean.

10. I don't necessarily want to boot people out
Hillary Clinton and Terry McAwful and Harry Reid are welcome to stay in my Democratic Party. I just don't want them running the damn thing.
