"Why triple-talented Dean spells trouble for Republicans"
Written by a Washington State republican in today's Seattle Times. I also posted this in Editorial Forum.

Enjoy it, this guy hits the mark!

snip...
"Republicans may think that the nomination of Dean is hysterically funny — a scream, in fact, as George Will recently put it — but they are deluding themselves if they think Dean is nothing more than a wild-eyed ideologue with a temper and a cult following.

Dean brings three talents to the chairmanship that can potentially sink not just a GOP presidential candidate in 2008 but the Republican-controlled House and maybe even the Senate well before then."

You guys on this forum never waivered in your support of Howard Dean. The party and all us Democrats will be better because of Howard Dean and hard working believers like you.

Thank you.

1. You would think a professor of political
science at a University in Washington would know better than to be a republican in this era.

He hits on a lot of Dean's assets and praises and gets him like us Deaniacs do. Too bad the dlc can't see it.

2. Great article, thanks!
This guy surely nailed Dean's strengths, and the reason I thought he was a brilliant choice for DNC Chairman. As for the "scream," come on! Haven't they moved past that?! It's like the Freepers on FR, still discussing Monica Lewinsky. This was one speech, Dean got a little emotional, but it's long over and should have been long forgotten. He's about much more than that, as this article points out.:-(

Howard Dean was not my candidate, Dennis Kucinich was, and this guy slams Dennis. *sigh* But this doesn't mean that I don't agree with what Dean has been saying. He also speaks for me. And I think that he is the one to bring real hope to the party. The Republicans had better start listening, as well, instead of writing him off because of one long-ago speech. Dean hardly has a "cult following," but his election means that he reflects the mainstream of the party. He speaks to all Democrats, and the Republicans are making a huge mistake in not taking him seriously. Howard Dean is the future of the Democratic Party.:-)

4. I just noticed this post from last year.
I was surprised to see it not yet archived. I am kicking it because it was such an interesting article.

:hi:

Yeh, I know I am talking to myself here, but someday someone will answer.
