After almost a year of planning and hard work, DemocracyFest, June 17-19 in Austin (www.democracyfortexas.org/Demfest/index.html), has arrived. If you haven’t signed up, or have signed up but not paid, now is the time, as we are rapidly approaching capacity. Whether or not we reach capacity, registration will be cut off on June 10.
In addition to all the great people participating in panels and workshops, we’re thrilled with our lineup at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q on Saturday night Governor Dean, Molly Ivins, Jim Hightower, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., and our special musical guests, Joe Ely and his band (www.ely.com), Doyle Bramhall (www.doylebramhall.com), and Tish Hinojosa (www.mundotish.com). Can’t make it to all of DemFest, but want to enjoy this special night? Tickets are $20 and are available at: www.frontgatetickets.com, or by calling 512/389-0315.
Do you want to have breakfast on Sunday with two of the premiere bloggers around Jerome Armstrong (myDD.com) and Markos Moulitsas Zúniga (dailyKOS.com)? Tickets are $16.00 (and the menu is awesome. Register now at: www.democracyfortexas.org/Demfest/breakfast. Again, we’re close to selling out, so don’t hesitate if you’re interested.
