We lost a special Deaniac recently. A little tribute to her.
She was known as jc at the DFA blog and as jaysea at Daily Kos. She did wonderful graphics for people, and she was active in the campaign from very early on.

Here is Donna's tribute to her at Daily Kos:

The Kos and DFA communities have lost a friend. On Mother's Day Kos diarist and incomparable graphic artist jaysea passed away.

Her wit and her ability to whip up just the right design were really special. On the DFA blog if you were talking about it, jc came up with a design about it. If there was something you wanted to know, she was a world class googler. She had the answer before you could get the question out.

I just thought y'all would want to know. And to get a glimpse of her graphic talent, here's a link to her blogs. Who knows how long they will continue to exist?

Update: I was just reminded that jaysea, or jc as she was known to the DFA community, designed the DFA logo. Her legacy lives on.

Here is the page of hers that is my favorite of all.
Take Your Country Back

She did not post often at Daily Kos, she more often posted at DFA blog and HEP.

Here are some of jc's graphics:

And though I don't think this picture is of her, she posted many pictures at the sites above. This caught my eye.

And a note just added at the HEP blog where there are more tributes to her. Their hometown in Lousiana was devastated by Katrina. Very recently she had lost her mother and grandmother. Almost an overload of grief.

http://www.howardempowered.blogspot.com/

she was living in LA at the time of the hurricane, and the city where she grew up, and went to high school, was devastated. She posted links to a number of pics to that little township then.

I don't see the links yet, but will look. Yes, I would call it grief overload.

Rest in peace, jc, jaysea.

1. I don't usually add to my journal this often.....but forgive this time.
I need to do so. Many never go to the DFA forum where I posted it and would never see it.

About Molly Ivins.

And about Katherine Harris...and unfortunate ad placement.

And a post about something Howard Dean blogged at DFA.

She will be missed.

And when we made our personal ads, hers was great. It is the cat picture if you scroll down on the left. She has all those ads saved at her side from 2003.

4. Dammit
Why do we lose such good people young and yet Jerry Falwell befouled this earth for over seventy years and the Shrub is still here while Molly Ivins, who coined that apt moniker is dead? I hate that life is so unfair!

Here are two.

Molly's gone, jc's gone, and Bush is still smirking.

5. There's a graphic for the DU store on that page, too.
RIP jaysea. :patriot:

(I love the one with the Howard Dean quote "We need more Cindy Sheehans.")

7. What a sad loss.
She looks like she was very young and vibrant, and extremely talented.

I am sure that her legacy will continue to live on.

8. A paragraph I found at the blog.
"When Katrina struck Judy Cadoret left us on this blog for the most part, and the obviously fun sideline of our witty bumper stickers; and threw herself into immediate use of her computer skills helping Louisiana, she worked day and night. With my son in Baton Rouge and myself trying to co-ordinate modest aid, I used jc's links, and was able to observe her when every personal asset she had was on display. Judy Cadoret was an amazing woman who cared with amazing computer skills. And she put her talents into action. She gave much of herself for the common good. She was a valuable asset for the body politic, and we have suffered a great loss. We should all remember that we each have assembled skills that we can apply in the effort to take our country back, and have been given a great example. No one should find it strange that love of family drew Judy home, she had much love to give. We here were all blessed to have shared it."

Very nice comments. I noticed that someone has already offered to keep up payment of her Take Your Country Back webiste.

9. I know a lot are reading this who can't or don't post here...
So I will keep it up to date.

Listener has a great thread up at the blog today with many details.

The most moving part..or as I said above "grief overload".

"My heart goes out to jc's beloved family following her death on Mother's Day (May13th), so soon after her 50th birthday (March 20th), and the death of her grandmother (March 31st) and mother (April 19th). I am sure that no words could possibly assuage the grief of her family and her blog family."

Apparently there will be a display of her works at Demcoracy Fest in early June.
