Was so glad to see Howard on Hardball
Since the election I have been thinking a lot about Dean. He told Chris he was going to give speeches and work on policy issues. Has any one heard whether he intends to retake the helm at DFA?
I feel the election of Barack Obama vindicated Dean in so many ways - the 50 state strategy, using technology, and even learning from Dean's 04 primary race.
Guess I am feeling a bit nostalgic tonight.

1. I saw a clip from that - Matthews is disgusting, just talks right over Dean.
Dean handled himself extremely well, I thought.

2. I think the fiasco in MA last night cries out for Dean to be prominent in the Dem Party -- !!!
And for the abuse of Dean to STOP!

I also saw part of the interview and thought Matthews was shameless again tonight --

only watched because Dean was on.

Obviously Matthews was being prodded to act childishly to keep Dean from being able to

get completely thru and heard by the audience.

4. He should have said something like "Chris, you understand as well as anyone
the concept of fed up voters simply throwing the bums out and this election had every sign of a warning shot, take a look at these poll results with me".

Kinda go professor on him to get him to chill and listen for a second.

3. Coincidentally, I just emailed Matthews that Dean and his poll nailed why Brown won.

(I live in Massachusetts.)

As far as Dean, I think he's doing just about what he wants to be doing. Maybe he'd like a show like Olberman's too, but I'm not sure about that. When he guest hosted, he kept mentioning it was a lot harder than it looked.

the Dean strategy as I would think it applies within state districts. Found this out from being in on a candidate search committee for our WA state rep. I am still on the steep uphill side of the learning curve, maybe learning curb it feels like sometimes, but the person I was told controls the purse strings of the WA state Democratic Party was in on the very small meeting and I mentioned to him and the folks there that we seemed to be ignoring what should have been the take home message from the Dean 50 state strategy as could be applied to districts within the state. All I got was crickets. I know I have so much to learn and am not the sharpest tool in the box but our party needs us, people who can think for themselves, question strategy, and not afraid to ruffle feathers. We might encourage each other to hone our skills taking over the local party and sharing what we learn as we have time to process. I know there are SO many people who have SO much to teach me here if they will only share it.

I heard the idea recently that the teacher appears when the student is ready. Well I am ready.

I've just put this together, too! Its not just the blue dogs, its MOST of the 'party,' that turns its back on what I'll call the grass roots, that is, US. They Don't Want US, and don't serve us, either locally or in DC. The party as it is provides their bread and butter, which comes from Corps just as the Reps $ does, and thats who they serve.

Alan Grayson and Howard Dean say it, and unless/until their ways take over, We the People will NOT HAVE A PARTY and will NOT HAVE REPRESENTATION, locally, state-wide, or nationally.

This is my new 'thing,' and if I were a community organizer, I'd head out and organize around this. $ from the Roots, ONLY. After my life settles down a bit, I might consider contacting them to see what I can offer.
