Attention all!
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 10:33 AM by PassingFair
If you haven't signed this petition, please go and sign in.
Even if you don't think that Dean would be most effective as DNC Chair (I DO, by the way, it will be much easier and quicker to work within the party than to start a new one.) It will send a message to the DNC/DLC that we have NUMBERS and that we MEAN BUSINESS.

The intentionally lame primary/caucus debacle of last year made us out to be a group of half-cocked, orange-hatted college kids invading Iowa. The 'pubs tried to paint us as "birkenstock-wearing hippies". We were neither of these. We are average americans who want the truth and don't believe in invading other countries, occupying them and stealing their natural resources. We were unanimously PRO healthcare for every American.

The overwhelming numbers of Dean supporters that I met and worked with were 35 or over. Many were senior citizens who were dead tired of BULLSHIT.

This particular petition has already over 4,000 signatures on it, I call it a good start. Just reading the comments of the signatees will make you smile. Sign it, then pass it on to anyone over the last year that acknowledged that Gov. Dean was speaking the truth, out loud!

1. I signed this one instead...
encouraging him to run in '08. He said himself that he couldn't do both. I don't know if that's because of compromises that the Chair position would require, or because of his concern over splitting the party if he trys but doesn't win.

I did send an e-mail asking him to consider it *IF* it wouldn't conflict with his prospects as a candidate.

3. Why not sign both?
Let him make his own decisions. There is nothing legally to make him choose between the two.
Problem is, the DNC wants him to choose either/or. He doesn't have to. He could stay chair until the 06 elections and then run himself. He would do more good in those 2 years than anyone else I can think of.
This petition goes to the DNC, why not let them know how much we support Howard - in any way HE chooses to serve? Put your concerns in your comment section!

2. I am a birkenstock wearing hippy!
just short of college too!

Were the pukes smearing ME???

Personally?

Fucking republicans. I prefer being a pot smoking peace activist than a facist Bush supporter.

4. Yes, they smear us all!
The fact is that Dean supporters are from EVERY "walk" of life, and wear everything from birkenstocks, to Totes, to FMPumps (my personal footwear). Now sign the petition, OK!

:hippie:

:D

5. Over 4500 on the pair, not bad
By mid-January, there could be a pretty respectable number of signatures.

We best keep beating the bushes (even though I don't think Jeb will be running.)

8. Here's another great tool to write your DNC members
http://drafthoward.com/index.php?id=19

Just identify your state and find out who you need to contact to urge them to support Howard Dean. A good sample letter is provided.

Maybe the DFA note about the Chairmanship had some affect.
