2. The snake oil selling centrists are out in force
With the community's anger or despair over the traitorous SCOTUS decision, I think some centrists here sense opportunity. Anyway, the time calls for us to respond in force.

3. I am beginning to think there is no such thing as a centrist. Maybe you are either left or
right. Or a hero worshipper, which goes whichever way the hero(es) go.

Dunno. That just occurred to me.

4. Consider stopping what you are doing and go read Lakoff now.
He explains that idea very thoroughly and bases his ideas on actual brain science.

I got my first reads borrowing a couple of his books from the library but have bought two since then and need to reread em. His ideas do not get enough exposure.

Oddly, I always assumed you read his simpler book, Don't Think of an Elephant!

5. This brings to mind another voting block
that exists and doesn't get pandered to by any particular party. Hope I can articulate this because I know a lot of these people.

They are socially liberal, but do not take a stand on ideological issues. Even something as divisive as abortion is not on their

radar because they don't think it impacts their life. They are patriotic (good word for them) but the wars also are not on their radar.

Like many people they are tax averse, but see taxes as a part of life and are not rabid about them. They may have voted for Bush the

first time, but Kerry in 2004, possibly even Bush again for security reasons. They are apathetic on environmental issues because it

seems to big a problem to solve in THEIR lifetimes. They always vote (civic duty) and could be considered Independents, but often are

registered Democrat. I think their vote could be brought to our candidate if there was an effort to include them in activism as long as

to much of their time and energy is not demanded. Does anyone else know people like this? Hope this made some sense.

8. Much untapped potential out there, agreed. OFA pulled in a lot of them.
And didn't hesitate to burn their grassroots.

I think you described a vast majority of people.
