Vilsack Won't Seek Chairmanship of DNC
Citing his responsibilities as governor, Vilsack said "these challenges and opportunities require more time than I felt I could share. As a result I will not be a candidate for DNC chairman."
------------------

I posted this other comment to a couple of other threads too but I want to keep emphasizing it. Howard Dean told Fran Vincent our Democracy For Texas (DFT) leader week before last, that there is no truth to the rumor that a sitting DNC chair can not run for president. Howard can serve as the DNC chair until he chooses to make the decision to run for President, then obviously he has to quit his day job.

Yeeee Hawww!!!!
:dem:
One down and well who the hell else is in our way.

We want Howard! We want Howard! We want Howard!

1. This is great news!
One of the things on the agenda for my local group's December Meetup is writing letters to DNC members in our state urging them to support Dean as Chair. It's going to bring back such bittersweet memories to be doing a letter-writing project at Meetup!!

4. ImADeanDem do you know about the Draft Howard site
There is a tool on that site that you can use to get addresses for all the DNC members in your state. Also a great sample letter you can start with and modify to personalize.

2. Yeeeeaaaahhhhhhaaaawwwww!
Watch out, it would not be beyond them to put the "big dawg" in the running. Only he or Clark could out draw Dean for backing from the peasantry (and I say this as a dem peasant).

That said, this struck me as great news.
We are having an effect.
They HAVE to pick someone popular with the people...

3. P.S. One more thing...
I've been having dreams and day-fantasies of Howard bitch-slapping Gillespie...let it come to pass....let it come to pass!
