Look what I found on YouTube
Some of you may remember our book reading thread on Michael Newton, PhD.
It was really a fun thread and great discussion and learning experience (for those who missed it)
I have been pondering and wanting to post some response to OneGrassRoot's post and wanted to add a link. Little did I know his videos are posted!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QDT58Q6Zxo

I have to still see it myself, but ASAH to me is like the study group of souls he mentions in the LBL. :hi:

2. Wow, rumpel, this is a great find!
"Journey of Souls" was one of the most important books that I've ever read in reference to influencing the way that I think in reference to spirituality.

Thank you so much!

Thanks for posting. I'm in such a bad period of the year, what with my DH dying on December 22, and it's all a bummer at this time with me, but it gave me so much hope and I don't feel so bad anymore.

Thank you friend!

5. No I don't read much spiritual stuff, I have to admit.
Most of my reading is history and trying to keep up with current events. However, do you recommend it as something you like?

especially if you found comfort listening to him  I found out about him through a series of fortunate events that I think were more than coincidences. His books helped save my sanity at a very bad time in life.

18. Hi OGR,
thank you for your  's :)

and regarding my ex. Over the years, I think I quickly forgave him, but from the beginning I was probably more shocked and stunned, how it can be that someone so close, can do so much harm on purpose and not feel any remorse. I have, since I came to ASAH, given him the respect and dignity for choosing his own path, without my further emotional interference. However, in my 3-D existence, I am letting the legal system do all they can for us. And since he was given so many chances to do the right thing, but has not, whatever happens in the 3D must be his choice. I must admit though, that "loving" him would be a stretch, but I can love him enough to not interfere with his own life lessons, as a human being. Perhaps, keep my emotional distance, just do my part (legal) for his lessons in this lifetime, and then be done.

:)

20. Hey....

I don't recall knowing of this situation, rumpel? Details are really escaping me these days and my brain doesn't retain a whole lot. :(

But it sounds like a very, very intense experience. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.

I'm with you on accountability and being responsible for choices. I can wish someone well yet completely detach from them. Actually, I may be better at detaching than I should be. ;) I give people several chances to do the right thing and cause no harm -- including to themselves -- and provide as much support as I humanly can, but I also have a "three strikes and you're out" policy. LOL.

I absolutely hear you when you say "but I can love him enough to not interfere with his own life lessons, as a human being." That's what I call compassionate detachment. Taking care of you is the priority; with you beaten down in any way, you can't help others. It sounds like you gave him plenty of chances to do no harm. Now, it's time for him to be held accountable.

I support you.

16. Cleita, I am so happy it lifted your spirits
I highly recommend the 2 books - the books are not spiritual in a sense, he is basically recounting many of his clients LBL regressions and formulates from all of what they say, a picture of a dimension, which is somewhere in the cosmos..it is fascinating, heartwarming and inspiring.

His work is so very important; it gives hope to so many.

He is very courageous to have published these books since I'm sure that his reputation amongst his peers was irreparably damaged. :(

conducted by Dr. Newton himself but rather hypnotherapists certified by the Newton Institute. I'm sure that it's still really interesting, but I'd personally prefer to read about his sessions.

24. Speaking of sessions by Newton himself...
I think it was in 2003/04, I'd gotten off work and off the bus in a neighborhood I'd recently moved to. I felt compelled to visit this 2nd hand bookstore I'd been meaning to explore for months. The store to my delight had 3 levels and the whole top floor is their science/metaphysical area. I thought I was the only one up there until I moved to the metaphysical area and saw another woman there. We greeted each other.

She kept following me and backing away, real passive/aggressive, and I grew uncomfortable. Finally I said as nicely as I could, what is it? She said, I've been up here for a couple of hours and no one has come up here, and I don't believe in coincidences. So we start talking and it turned out she was from the same state, city in Maryland, attended the same grade school, high schools - as my siblings - and same university as me, about ten years apart though. I'd moved to SoCal about 6 years before. She'd made her move back in the '80s.

She said that she ran into car trouble on the freeway and got off immediately at the first exit that led to my neighborhood where her car was being repaired. At that time, I was going thru a very rough patch and during the conversation, I shocked my damn self by kind of spilling my guts. To my surprise she seemed happy and said, "I think I've figured it out. Have you heard of Michael Newton?" No, I hadn't. "Well, get both of his books." And she said she had a session(s) with him years before that saved her, and told me which subject/patient she was in the first book. "Here's my number, take your time in reading and call me when you're ready. I've been stuck here waiting to pass that on," she laughed. "And I bet there's nothing wrong with my car." I thought she might be a little off, as she left to get her car.

I got the books the next day and called her about 2months later. Before we ended our conversation she said, "By the way, there was nothing wrong with my car and I had it checked out at another auto shop."

A few years ago, it turned out a cousin of my husband, a psychologist, went thru the Newton training. So my husband and I went thru the regression process during a wonderful weekend at her place. I highly recommend it with someone you trust :)

27. Wow, what an amazing story and amazing gift from the Universe!
Don't things like this make you feel absolutely loved and cared for by it?

I also went through the regression process with someone who trained under Dr. Newton. Not surprising to me, I couldn't go under. I have no problem with trusting people who attempt to hypnotize me, but I just don't go under enough. (It's happened under multiple people -- all of whom I trusted, so it's not a trust thing.) It was very disappointing. :(

The woman who tried to regress me had been extremely successful with a friend of mine, and I went to this person on her recommendation.

I'm so glad that things worked for you, Blue.

I thought myself un-hypnotizable(?) for a long while and had given up on it working for me, especially going to recommended people who I didn't know but were really nice and sincere people. Since I know and love my cousin-in-law, and had to leave the room because I went under  during my husband's regression (he did it first since I claimed being a poor subject) I figured it's because of the relationship with the therapist.

It's funny about the relationships. I was surely disappointed when I read the study of the negative results of people sending positive energy to sick people. But what was not ballyhooed is that when a loved one sends to another, there's clear physical changes at the same time in the sender and their love.

I wonder if Newton had people who could not be regressed :eyes: It would be cool to know if he has any thoughts on why and how to overcome it.

on edit: delete redundant sentence

Perhaps there are other therapists who can be more successful, or it may be different now? I have never tried hypnotherapy so I do not know how I would react if I were to.

I checked on the institute site, but no article or mention of difficulties...but looking at some of the therapists websites, it seems they are prepared to assist in any way, with additional modalities.
