From Lunar Living:
FYI, via newsletter: Our thoughts and prayers go out to those caught in the earthquake destruction in Haiti. In that vein, over the next two weeks, the proceeds from any computerized reports purchased from our site will be donated to Medical Teams International. Thank you in advance for any support that you can provide.
The Solar Eclipse adds considerable stability, however, there is always the potential for getting stuck if we wait too long. This New Moon/Solar Eclipse may be more relevant for people born three days before or after the 15th of January, April, July & October.

Once again, this is another example of the Out of Bounds Moon's vulnerability in the face of catastrophic events. While not all disasters occur during Out of Bounds' transits, it does seem to influence the manner in which people respond to these horrific events. At the time of the event, the moon was at 25 degrees 36 minutes latitude in the southern hemisphere (Sagittarius). The Moon had reached it's maximum declination at 25 deg 48 min approximately 12 hours earlier in the day before the moon started to head back inbounds. However, the Moon would not be inbounds until early morning hours of January 14. And with the Solar Eclipse on January 15, the feelings of vulnerability will not subside quickly!
The nature of a solar eclipse is to start "anew" with great intensity. Similar to the new moon energies, we are expected to initiate new projects and strive for new goals. Depending on the natal house that the eclipse activate, we can gauge our focus. Add in the aspects that the eclipse creates to natal placements, we can determine how we should move forward with our activities.
This Solar Eclipse originated from the North in family 12, aka Solar Saros number 141. Its "birthday" is May 19, 1613 when and Sun and Moon were at 28 degrees Taurus. The last time that this particular series occurred was January 4, 1992, however the last time that there was a New Moon eclipse at today's eclipse point (25 Capricorn) was January 15, 1991 by Saros number 131 of the 11th family. The original 1613 eclipse brought out a cautious and disciplined influence. The 28th degree of Taurus is in the third decan, ruled by Saturn, which deepened the desire for practicality and stability. The placement in the 12th dwad is ruled by Mars, which does add an assertive trait, along with initiative to the overall original influence. more at:
