I had a job interview today.

Two-ish years ago, I saw an opening for exec assistant to the CEO of a local yoga studio chain. I thought, "Oh, that sounds like fun, but I'm not ready for that right now. Maybe it'll reopen later after I've been doing yoga for a while, and I'll be better situated for it." Yeah.

And I carried on with my job, but I had been unhappy with it for several years. I kept up with the yoga, and I initiated a yoga at work program. The work has been feeling particularly tiresome to me lately, and my boss seemed at times to be deliberately uncivil and mean spirited. Well, the yoga position reopened in December and I applied for it. And my boss's nastiness peaked in December when she called me at home (I was sick), upset because of some work I'd left undone. I explained to her that I had done the best I could in the circumstances, and that I had to make a judgement call, but all she would say was "we'll talk about it after the holiday, goodbye" with a decidedly threatening tone. I got off the phone and I sobbed. Then I checked my voicemail - the yoga studio wanted an interview. It's been crazy, I tell you. I spent my entire winter holiday thinking - what, that she would fire me? - that I would rather throw myself under a truck on the highway than go back to my current job. And the yoga studio? I had my second interview today. They'll let me know in two days. I didn't lose my job, but I know I'm resigning no matter what, it's just a matter of when my husband gets his benefits or whether I get this yoga exec ass't job.

I could use your good vibes for grounding, commitment, and patience. I feel a bit like I'm surfing, standing atop a big wave.

I love this place. Namaste.

What an amazing story, Dora! Sending you light for the best possible outcome.

Funny how lately "instant manifestation" is reaching new heights, isn't it? ;)

All the best to you with your promising new venture!

On edit: Another thought--all that "do what you love" advice we've been bombarded with for the past couple of decades? Seems like it's finally time to REALLY do that. You kept your job, but added yoga--helping yourself--and the universe looks like it's ready to take you to the next level. Wow, I say again!

4. Thank you, MG.
The manifestations and "oneness" I've been experiencing of late have been truly eye-opening. My husband and I have been thinking the same thoughts with increasing frequency (and without cues). "Oy," I said to him the other morning, "If we're going to be thinking the same thoughts like this, then all we really have to do is think that we love each other." He laughed. And the very next morning we had an argument.

In a manner and at a pace as Goddess knows best, of course. :)

9. (((( Dora ))))
I had a funny "flash" a couple of days ago about the last time you posted a job help thread, here (during a Venus return for you, if I recall.) So, I'm hoping that bodes well for your success.

19. Update: I didn't get the job.
I feel different this time. I have no real sense of disappointment, and I don't feel rejected. I'm so happy to have interviewed; I think the call coming when it did was the Universe showing me that others can see my professional worth, even if I can't. The entire experience has been affirming. I'm still dedicated to my yoga practice, and I have an idea that their CEO and I will meet or talk again. He did leave a door open for the future in his e-mail to me.

Through this process, I've come to understand that I am fully committed to publishing my magazine. I've never talked about it much in here - it's not woo-woo - but I've received nothing but encouraging signs from my networks and the universe. So it's certain, when my husband's employment becomes permanent, I will give my notice at my current position. After that, I intend to temp work 50-75% time, and work on the magazine the remaining 25-50% of the time. This, or something better for the greatest good.

Thank you to everyone for your support and good wishes. I do love this place so.

21. Sorry to hear that, Dora
But kudos to you for rolling with the punches.

Every time I didn't get a job I thought I wanted, it turned out there was a reason--I had to be somewhere else, or the job wasn't as ideal as it had been presented. Keep looking to the future! (I like the magazine idea--do tell!)
