I just had this "flash" of a premonition regarding Crawford Texas, and
The people who are protesting there. In this flash, I saw flames and smoke and felt people were dying.
Surely they would not attack the protesters?

What am I feeling here? Anybody else?

1. I've had the feeling that something awful will happen there also.
I would not put anything past them, they have done it before.

2. I hope that was symbolic instead of literal - - ???
I haven't had any intuition on it, I only know (a) I don't much like her (silly and probably superficial, I admit -- tho that doesn't mean I oppose her) and (b) I keep hiding all the threads in GD and GDP that are about this protest, for whatever reason I'm not sure.

I am glad it's actually getting a little cable news play. Whodathunkit -- you get 10s of thousands of people protesting in the big cities and it's as if it didn't happen at all, and suddenly a Gold Star mother and about 50 people (probably more than that, but still VERY small compared), and it's news. I guess it really is true: timing is everything. These days the corporate media are a little more willing to be critical of Bush -- just a little, but more than before.

5. It could be metaphorical.
What has happened is that the protesters have been forced to walk in ditches and not on the road. Some have suffered from heat prostration. It seems that the "authorities" are giving the protesters a hard time in general. Of course Bush refusing to meet with them is a symbolic shooting down, like they are not worthy of his concern.

Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 11:57 AM by Eloriel
She alleged that Secret Service agents in Crawford were trying to coerce her into leaving. She said the agents have told protesters that if they stay along the road, about five miles from Bush's ranch, they may be hit by Secret Service vehicles. The Secret Service in Washington said it was unaware of any such incidents.

7. I doubt it. Cindy's been on CNN Headline News all day.
They've been showing her protest, so they're not hiding it, at least for now. I am however a tad worried about that Secret Service order for the citizens of some small town nearby to NOT look at * when he drives by, lest they be mistaken for terrorists - how wierd is that?
The other point against them being able to hide something happening is the blogosphere - DUers would just be one of the groups demanding coverage.
Would they hurt Cindy? Is there anyone here who would put anything past this gang of thugs?
Let's all send her prayers/energies for protection!!!

12. Cleita, do you think Cindy Sheehan could be the 'Queen of Cups'
in your reading that you share with us in your thread here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x11051

In it, you mention that the Queen of Cups is an Aryan type- Ms. Sheehan is strawberry blonde.

it is someone you would expect not to be all the sweetness and light that the Queen of Cups should be-- It seems that Ms. Sheehan is standing up to Shrub, and showing a lot of balls.

the cards that surround her seem to point to a lot of secrecy and deception, maybe killings of people who can testify or shredding of documents-- could the secrecy and deception be about Iraq, and the killings of people be all the soldiers killed over there, including her son?

I think it is very interesting that these two threads were posted today... are they linked?

Sybil Edmunds or all three. It seems there is definitely a woman that will be a catalyst for this. I still favor Valerie Plame as the one who will lead to the indictments that it will take to topple the Bush Crime Family. Sorry I took so long to answer you. I didn't see your question until today.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ANTIWAR EVENT IN A GENERATION
For months now, we’ve been planning for the mass rally in Washington, DC on September 24th;

snip

But, as it turns out, one fearless and determined mother, along with a handful of vets, took a spontaneous action which, as it turns out, is probably going to be remembered as this generation’s watershed antiwar event. So simple, so seamless, so Cindy Sheehan.

President Bush draws antiwar protesters just about wherever he goes, but few generate the kind of attention that Cindy Sheehan has since she drove down the winding road toward his ranch here this weekend and sought to tell him face to face that he must pull all Americans troops out of Iraq now.

snip

Ms. Sheehan has vowed to camp out on the spot until Mr. Bush agrees to meet with her, even if it means spending all of August under a broiling sun by the dusty road. Early on Sunday afternoon, 25 hours after she was turned back as she approached Mr. Bush's ranch, Prairie Chapel, Ms. Sheehan stood red-faced from the heat at the makeshift campsite that she says will be her home until the president relents or leaves to go back to Washington.

Maybe Cindy Sheehan IS the woman who'll bring Bush down???

I have just had a very disturbing call from Cindy- there are ten people preparing to sleep out on the side of the road, the media and police have gone, SEVERAL secret service people have stopped by to give this message

"people drive very fast on this road, somebody could run over you and you could get killed"

Cindy was frightened by this message and asked me to ask you to post it.

Cindy Sheehan to Be Arrested Thursday
by David Swanson
Mon Aug 8th, 2005 at 09:49:41 PDT
Cindy Sheehan phoned me from Texas a few minutes ago to say that she's been informed that beginning Thursday, she and her companions will be considered a threat to national security and will be arrested. Coincidentally, Thursday is the day that Rice and Rumsfeld visit the ranch, and Friday is a fundraiser event for the haves and the have mores. Cindy said that she and others plan to be arrested.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1685852

Apparently something happens at the stroke of midnight Wednesday that suddenly turns her into a "threat to national security"?

16. What happens to turn her into a "threat"?
They're probably just lying again to destroy the First Amendment. That Amendment is apparently a "terrorist" threat.

"War on Terror" not "Global struggle against Violent Extremists".

If she's on public property, and peaceful, it seems to me the first amendment applies. But I'm not a lawyer :silly:

CRAWFORD, Texas, Aug. 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- More members of Gold Star Families for Peace (GSFP) and Military Families Speak Out (MFSO) are traveling to Texas to join the protest outside of President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, where he is vacationing for the month of August.

Starting today, Gold Star families from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arkansas and other states whose loved ones have died as a result of the war in Iraq will be joining one of their members, Cindy Sheehan, at the protest. Ms. Sheehan, whose son Army Specialist Casey Sheehan was killed in Sadr City, Iraq on April 4, 2004, has been in Crawford since August 5th, demanding a meeting with the President. These families will be joined by military families with loved ones currently serving in Iraq or about to deploy or redeploy to Iraq. All of these families are coming to Crawford, Texas to share their stories about the personal costs of the war in Iraq and add their voices to the call for a meeting with President Bush.

On August 3, 2005 President Bush, speaking about the dreadful loss of life in Iraq in early August, said "We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission... The families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause." Gold Star and military families coming to Crawford know that the cause was not noble; that their loved ones died, or are currently in harm's way, serving in a war based on lies.

In the first 8 days of August, 36 service members died in Iraq; countless Iraq children, women and men are dying each day. All of the families traveling to Crawford will carry the message to the vacationing President: Honor our fallen and honor our loved ones' service by ending the occupation, bringing the troops home now and taking care of them when they get here.

President Bush has consistently tried to hide, and to hide from, the cost of the war in Iraq. This August, these costs are being brought right to his doorstep.

Members of Gold Star Families for Peace and Military Families Speak Out who are traveling to Crawford will be available for interview beginning on Tuesday afternoon August 9th.

I am just thrilled. Naturally, I hope there's no violence, etc., but this is really turning into something that is yet another quagmire for Bush -- no gracious or effective way out. I LOVE IT.

18. I have been afraid of another Kent State for a while now.
Given the lack of regard they have demonstrated for human life coupled with the political polarization of the US, I have been horribly afraid that we will live to see another episode like Kent State.

What scares me even more, is the realization that it typically takes something along the lines of bloodshed to inflame the passions of some of the people. In Viet Nam it was the Tet Offensive combined with the visit by Walter Cronkite that really brought it home to a lot of the American public.

Pray (or whatever you do that directs well wishes) for those folks down in Texas. I am afraid for them, and I am afraid for us all if it goes badly.

24. Let me refresh my feelings.
Last Friday my fear began to abate, and today, a week later, I no longer sense any danger to the group in Crawford. I think what I was picking up initially was the anger flashing on both sides, and also that the B* administration was trying to come with a way to force Cindy's group away. I have no doubt they were gearing up to deal swiftly and proactively, should Cindy's group gotten very large and created a security risk.

Remember -- most of these neo cons have a very narrow view of everyday life in the U.S. They are insulated and protected from left wing views, and tolerate no dissent.

I work with a guy like this: he is always right, I am always wrong. Fuck him.

Anyway, Cindy and her group have been now considered to be harmless. I even think the new location was perhaps engineered by the WH to give them a way to keep them away from the other Crawford residents and allow the protest to go on peacefully without danger to anyone.

Meanwhile, though, I don't believe they have any clue how this whole affair has galvanized groups again to their individual corners, either pro or con.

25. You tapped into a probable situation. Fortunately, other forces
came into play that diffused that original scenario. I think the two Larrys (gun Larry and mow'em down Larry) were what was left of what could have happened. I think the fact that the left media (yes we now have a small left media, the blogs, websites and AAR)showed up and made a presence diffused something that could have become ugly. That doesn't mean we can't let our guard down.

"Galloway to go on anti-war tour of US with Jane Fonda

By Andrew Buncombe in Washington

Published: 27 August 2005

George Galloway, the anti-war MP for Bethnal Green and Bow who rocked the US Senate earlier this year, is to be accompanied on a speaking tour of America by the actress and activist Jane Fonda.

Few things are more likely to antagonise US conservatives than the combination of Mr Galloway and Ms Fonda - still hated by the right because of her outspoken opposition to the war in Vietnam - joining to condemn the American presence in Iraq. But Mr Galloway can expect a thunderous reception from those he impressed with his performance before a Senate committee last May.

In a statement, Mr Galloway, the Respect MP, said: "I'm really pleased and excited to be going back to America to campaign against this illegal war and occupation. And to have Jane Fonda join me is fantastic. I'll be able to get that autograph at last."

http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article308...

Nancy Waterman has said on several occasions that when Uranus squared U.S. Uranus, it was going to be reminiscent of the time we experienced this aspect during the Civil War. Well, if this isn't going to ignite a firestorm, I don't know what will.

Nancy was right again!
