Every year in March I’m often reminded of the classic song "The Waters of March," by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Jobim wrote this song in a stream of consciousness during Brazil's rainiest month of March. He once said the process of writing "The Waters of March," saved him hours of psychoanalysis and brought him peace of mind.

The song is not a story but a collage of the mundane and profound, taking the listener through life's ordinariness, despair, hope, disappointment and joy. Sometimes I think the journey through it all is the destination and, to me, somewhere in between, the sometimes elusive Peace of Mind.

So this month I'm offering Peace of Mind as our theme, that in our calling, conjuring and heartfelt requests for things ordinary and grand, for health, success, inspiration and cleansing, that all who join me in doing so enter the flow. The Stream, Our place of the un-manifested where all possibilities lay waiting for our call.

7. Thank you so much to everyone here

Grandma is unchanged. To be completely honest, I hoped that she would pass last night in her sleep, just because I don't want her to suffer. I don't ever want her to leave, but I know she would never want to live the way things are right now. I'm also thinking about our grandpa. I called the social worker at the hospital for some advice this morning on things I can do for him that might help right now.

I wish everyone on ASAH could meet Grandma. She has been a huge influence in my life. Obviously, she's my grandma by marriage, but she gave me the biggest compliment I have ever had: She said she never thought she would have a grandchild she could relate to in her life. It's not that she doesn't love everyone else; it's that she and I talk about things that mean something to us, besides the usual family conversations. She is a strong personality, a huge liberal, and worked all her life to instill those values in her children and grandchildren.

Again, thank you so much for your good thoughts and your prayers. I believe I've said everything I had to say, but if I get a chance over the next few days, I will visit and tell her that if she has to go, I know I'll see her again.

I pray for the best outcome for all of you. I had a connection with one of my Grandmothers, and I miss her still after 12 years since her passing, but in the end she had suffered a long time and her transition to a better state was a relief.

I have her old cast iron dutch oven and it will always be my favorite cooking utensil. I hope you have something of hers that you can cherish. Every time I cook something in it I wonder if "Memmy" would like this dish.

a call-out to the Universe to end the nightmare the family of a missing girl in my county is going through. One way or another, I know it will be resolved and I pray for a positive outcome. The child's mother spoke of fear she never imagined could exist in her being.

She lives in Poway, is a long distance athlete and a good person who friends and family say would never-ever run away.

They've arrested a man, a registered child molester and police are not saying right now, but I feel Chelsea is gone.

29. I want to thank everyone!

I want to thank everyone at ASAH for all the light sent me and my family over the past month +. I had my hernia surgery yesterday and everything went great! I now can recommend a good Reiki session prior to surgery because I really feel like it helped me tremendously. And my Dad continues to slowly improve and was moved to the rehab part of the hospital so he can build up strength before returning home. My husband seems to also be on the mend. I have a huge dose of gratitude because this winter has been hard but the outcomes are good so far. I felt like there was a presence, or more than one, with me when I went in for surgery yesterday. It was minor surgery but the first time I had had real surgery in my life. It was also unusual that I didn't feel fear.

Thanks again to everyone here. Contact with kind people helps me grow spiritually. One reason I don't even go to the argumentative parts of DU now.

34. Two requests, one moderate, one minor

Hi all! Can we send some light to one of the MG kittehs, my familiar? Her breath really smells and she's drooling a tiny bit--I think she has a bad tooth. Going to try to get her in to the vet soon to make sure she doesn't have an infection.

Also, this may sound really silly, but can we get some energy going for a Cub Scout outing? MG Jr. and his group are supposed to tour a radio or TV station, so naturally I contacted my old workplace--only to find out that they're not doing tours anymore (the woman who always did them retired and they never replaced her), unless a friend on staff agrees to lead it. I called and e-mailed my former coworker and asked him if he would do it. I thought he'd agree, since he's big into scouting, but he hasn't called me back. I think he just wants to be a dick about it because he and I weren't exactly the best of buds when I worked there. (Nice scouting values, huh? :eyes: ) Anyway, if we could get him to let go of the old grudge and scrounge up some compassion for some itty bitty Tiger Cubs, I'd be most grateful.

38. I'm going to need another Miracle!

I may lose my home for outstanding property taxes that I cannot pay. I have until March 15th to come up with the total amnt. due or it's being turned over to a Marshall. I'm going to speak to the tax collector in the AM to se if I can talk them into a "reprieve" if I promise to make monthly payments of at least $300.00 (which is going to be very tight for me) It wouldn't be so difficult if I wasn't so behind in everything else. It's been a rough winter for me financially and physically as you all know. Without divine intervention from the Universe, I am resigned to hopefully getting into Sr. Housing on an emergency basis. That...or living in my car. Of course I will have to surrender my animals to the local shelter............all this and I'm still not smoking. I'm so ashamed of myself for letting things get this bad, and I knew it was coming eventually. I am looking to you guys for strength to help me get through this. I can't maintain this house and property for another summer anyhow. Too much needs work I can't do anymore. Luv to all...JA

72. I am in absolute awe....

at the immediate 'answer' to my plea! I'm sorry I didn't get back sooner, but the stress is taking it's toll on my lower back, so I'm not at the computer desk too often. There is a little back(no pun intended) story to my situation, and my reaction to it. As some of you may recall, during the Nov. elections for my town this year, I nearly threw two Repukes running for Selectman off of my porch for daring to show their faces to me, knowing that I was a member of the Dem. Town Comm. My after thought was that I prayed they didn't get into office!! Well....need I say they did?!! the whole town has turned red this year. I thought "oh, oh, my goose is cooked now"!! When I got the DEMAND notice for my taxes, I was especially fearful that my actions were going to come back and bite me in the ass!! I couldn't have been more wrong. When I called the tax collector the next AM after my request for intervention, I could "hear" the smile in her voice as I explained my situation. She was more than willing to work with me, and said as long as I can send regular monthly payments (no matter how much) I would be safe from further proceedings!!! I just put a check in the mail for $25.00 for this month, and will endeavor to send more each month to get the bill down and give me time to make more rational decisions regarding the status of my living here!! I want to thank you all for your amazing support, and powerful prayers. They indeed have been answered once again, and Universe and Source or God whatever you prefer to call it, have come through for me again! When will I ever learn??? JA, I'm asking for the Universe to help make manifest the perfect outcome for you in this situation. Short-term, I'm asking that you be given what you need to comfortably be able to make whatever changes you ultimately need to make -- that things flow smoothly and easily for you so that you can see the divine intervention that is occurring on your behalf to allow you to take comfort in knowing that everything will be OK in the end. 45. Healing light for my friend, Mavis, in Southern Oregon. Her cancer returned,

(4th recurrence) and she had to have surgery last month. We just found out, because, as she has moved into the senior care center, her communication with us has been patchy. On the bright side, after the surgery, the constant pain she had been having went away (was probably cancer related) and she hasn't used narcotics in a month. On the downside, it was the 4th recurrence. Statistically speaking--that is not good.

My friend, Joe, is having a rough time of it. He's in California. Anyone who wants to send light should.

78. Prayers for my mom....

I'm truly not sure what to pray for, other than That Which is for Her Highest Good.

She has been beyond depressed ever since my dad passed away very suddenly nearly three years ago. When I think it can't get worse, it does. :( She is often actively suicidal. We've tried everything -- every obvious and even obscure paths to get help for her, but the bottom line is that she doesn't WANT to feel better.

We talk about it frequently, and I told her I certainly empathize with her feeling that if she lets go of the pain, she lets go of dad. Anyone who has been through the grief process recognizes when we come to identify with the grief so much it is a part of us and we don't want to let it go.

Still, she isn't just afraid of letting it go, she truly doesn't want to. She doesn't want to be here, she doesn't want to FEEL better.

The thing is, she doesn't know how to do much of anything on her own. Dad did EVERYTHING (no, he didn't do her nor any of us any favors in the long run, but he spoiled her completely throughout their 40 years together). Without him to decide how she should handle this, she is lost. I've encouraged her to imagine what he would tell her -- and she knows what he would tell her, which is to dust herself off and get on with the business of life...that she can DO it.

She doesn't want to. And I don't know how to help or even respond any more. I do think it would be a blessing if she were to pass on, to be with my dad, but the fact that she is essentially in good health makes me think she has more to do here after all. With the anniversary of his death approaching, the suicide topic will most definitely be front and center.

We've tried various groups. She has no interest. She'll say she will do it (but she is really doing it for US, not for herself), she'll attend one session or one meeting or whatever, and that's that.

She doesn't want to feel better or do better or be better. She truly doesn't. Yet I'm not sure she is comfortable taking her own life. My dad and his side of the family are Catholic, and they have drummed into my mom's head that he would never forgive her if she took her own life and she wouldn't be able to be with him in the afterlife if she left that way. I don't like that they did that. She and I speak of it openly. I want her to have the freedom to do so -- and I don't judge those considering this option.

Of course, my preference is that all suffering and pain to that extent would disappear from our human experience so people wouldn't ever think of leaving in this way.....

I have an opportunity to align myself with a healing center that is only about 20 miles away. A client told me about it and I'm reading for the owner this morning during a Mars station. e-gads

Could use some good vibes.

My confidence has not been great having had Saturn conjunct 7 points in my chart including my ruling planet over recent years and I'm really nervous about doing this because of how highly credentialled those affliliated with the center are.

I used to have far more moxie and could bedazzle all sorts of brainiacs. Not sure I still can do so.

Like I always have said to clients (who are mostly women,) "Saturn is the archetypal authority figure and no matter how old you are, its influence always feels as though with pointed index finger its saying. . ."*Young lady*. . .This is what you're not. . .this is what you're not,. . . this is what you're not. " The upside is that it miraculously distills all the extraneous BS related to self image down to one's core essense.

This lady doesn't have a birth time so I'll have to rely largely on the cards.

We made the appointment for the time when Mars is stationary. I sorta wanted to reschedule. Then I read about this. . .

The healing center is sponsoring a workshop on Saturday with a writing coach who has phenomenally great energy.

My knees have been knocking together ever since I saw her website and youtubes.

It's an enormous challenge and cut me to the quick.

The reading could not have gone better.

The proprietor is fantastic and she's done a amazingly impressive job with the place.

In the bowels of an abandoned textile town, she's made an incredibly wonderful sanctuary, where folks need healing the most. The energy of the place could not be clearer.

I am so thrilled and humbled to have been blessed with this opportunity.

The way I dealt with the Mars station was that we didn't nail anything down in absolution. We just mutually agreed that we liked each other enormously and intented to work together very soon and were on the same page.

My mantra has always been that "I do better one on one."

107. I feel like I'm suffocating and slowly dying inside...

My husband lost his job about a month ago because of a disagreement with a supervisor. While my husband was in the right with his frustration and anger, his way of handling it was ALL wrong. Needless to say, he's no longer working there. He says he "didn't quit" and they say they "didn't fire him." I know, I know, :wtf: He is/was a truck driver for a company who transports fine art across the country. He was a "senior" driver and had been with the company a while. He's very dependable and a perfectionist with his job (wish he was this way with home projects!). At one of their stops--a very high scale museum--one of the pictures that they wrapped got cracked. The lady at the museum said it was the fault of the company so my husband was docked almost $400 dollars out of his paycheck. (and the guy who is his junior driver too) As if this wasn't enough to send my husband through the roof, he found out about his checked being docked by another driver--not his supervisor. I guess his supervisor was just going to let him open his check and see it rather than tell him.

So this was the last straw--my husband blew up at him. He said he would no longer "drive on long hauls" (there are in-town jobs) so his supervisor took this as he was quitting. He handed in his uniform and that was it. Since then, he has been looking for another job to no avail. I have helped him update his resume and other things to get him moving forward, but nothing is working. Honestly--I AM SO DAMN MAD! I haven't vented to anyone except here now. I understand his anger, but the whole thing was not handled well. Now, come to find out, he was told through a friend who works there, that they now KNOW he wasn't responsible for the broken picture. (more long story) I told him to try to smooth things over with his supervisor, especially since he had just been put on blood pressure medicine that week, but he said, "I will not kiss their ass." :argh:

So, here we are--bills coming in, but no money. He's not eligible for unemployment and he doesn't want to do that anyway. I am working on my teacher certification and have to take my test, so I'm in "transition." My husband knew this and he quit this job anyway. Pride cometh before the fall right? Well, we're falling...and our kids are sucked in this vortex of stupidity too. I can't even concentrate on what I need to be doing.

I have been so depressed that I feel like I'm just dying inside. This is one of those situations that I truly feel helpless. I can only be patient and supportive for so long. Today I told him that he has to resolve the past before he can move on--whatever that is--or I'M moving on--without him.

In the meantime, positive thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you for letting me vent.

I'm asking for prayers that I can't muster up for my brother and family in Maryland. I'm so far away and feel so helpless in whatever I do, that I can't seem to step out of myself to even pray for him. What a big sister, huh?

He really, really needs a good lawyer in a police brutality and harassment ordeal. He is not a criminal, a computer networking person with a wife whose a grade school teacher, and three kids, and basically a good life until this.

Jasmine, my familiar, just got back from a visit to the vet--she had an enormous abscess in her mouth, surrounding a giant chunk of plaque (honestly, when the vet got it out, I thought it was a tooth). Antibiotics while the abscess drains, but she has to have dental surgery next Wednesday. The vet said the worst-case scenario is that the abscess is really a growth/tumor that they might have to biopsy, but she doubts that's what it is, as her other gums are inflamed as well. Still, some nifty ASAH white light to ensure that my sweet little kitteh only has a couple of bad toofies that need to be pulled can't hurt, right? :)

Is there a mantra or prayer you can focus on as you try to sleep? For me, when I'm in distress, there is something so comforting about The Lord's Prayer. It was the first prayer I learned as a young child, and while I don't follow a particular religious path, the simple recitation of that prayer when I'm in need of calming and reassurance helps every time.

I was told not long ago that there's something in the cadence of that prayer...something about the vibration itself when said aloud...that is helpful in some way. I think repetition of any saying or prayer is helpful in calming the mind.

I hope you sleep soundly and awaken refreshed and renewed.

I'm thinking of calling a holistic vet first (to get her rates and/or advice) since she sometimes does weekend work at the same vet clinic. Maybe she could help more. Because one of my biggest concerns is that they'll just give Kipper more of the steroids they've given him in the past to get his appetite and energy back up. I have major reservations about that medication (Prednisone) and would just as soon not put him (and myself) through that again.

but she's out of the state at the moment. She recommended two other vets, but I think I'm still going to my regular vet anyway. One of the other ones does acupuncture, too, but requires a long evaluation exam before any work is done (I think; they're going to call me back to discuss it further.) I'll just keep her name available for future visits or supplemental work. The other one does housecalls, too, but is quite a distance away from here.

Good news from our vet--Jasmine did fine in her dental surgery. One tooth fell out of its own accord and they took out a second. No need for a biopsy of the abscess--there's no growth or tumor. She's in recovery now and I can pick her up in about an hour. So thanks all for the light for her surgery! :hi:

Plus, a mere 12 hours after I did BanzaiBonnie's meditaiton and expressed a concern about finances, the vet tech handed me the releases and the estimate to sign when I was dropping Jasmine off, then said, "Oh wait. Your estimate is wrong. It doesn't have the discount." What discount? Turns out the vet's office gives about 20 percent off in February for dental surgery, but for some reason she gave it to me in mid-March. Well all right! :D

My vet gave me a discount, too, by classifying Kipper as "senior" (I think he's a little over 9 yrs.) Still several hundred and I won't know the results of the bloodwork until tomorrow. They were having some trouble with their blood analyzer, so I think that might have added to the discount.

There were several possibilities for his illness, one being a possibility of diabetes onset. The other possible was related to his previous digestive problems that were never easy to diagnose. The vet calls his condition "weird" :P

I have no idea what it's like to care for a diabetic animal, so I sincerely hope that's not it. I would guess at the least he'd get a special diet in addition to daily medication for life...

Kipper's at my feet, following me around even more than normal, still yowling at me whenever I move, like I'm going to leave him or something. I swear, his head will fly off the next time I say "treats?" in his fervor to snap his head around and stare at me, wide-eyed :rofl:

The vet just called and they think it's just a minor urinary infection. I have to give him antibiotics for the next week and a half and only hope I can get him to take the pill pockets (he ate the one the vet gave, so hopefully he'll do the same with me...) They also want me to just keep watch on him in case anything changes and let them know.

No diabetes or anything "weird" :D

217. I have discovered something that helps him take his pill: gravy

Yep, the gravy in canned giblet catfood. He'll eat that first and the giblets later. I had given him his pill in quarters earlier today and he scarfed down one of them, leaving the other three licked but not eaten. So, I decided later to mix them into a bowl of his canned food (normally, I give him dry, but I need him to bulk up some more.) I went back after he had worked on it some, and found all the pill pockets gone as well as all of the gravy! :rofl:

I'm going to the pet store tomorrow and see if I can get just gravy :P
His affection is indeed still high as is his whining ;)
