Starlight News: Truth or Consequences
Edited on Sat Apr-03-10 10:03 PM by Nancy Waterman
http://starlightnews.com/wordpress/?p=145

I thought you might be interested in my latest article on Starlight News. It has more
of a psychological focus than an astrological one, though there is some astrology at the end.
More than anything, it is my attempt to discuss what is going on with the lunatic fringe these days.

Facing the truth can be exceptionally bracing, like a splash of cold water on your face after a too-deep sleep. Ultimately, it is the only path to constructively and successfully deal with reality. But many often try to avoid the truth, letting a difficult situation fester while determinedly looking elsewhere for both distraction and blame. Ultimately, avoidance may deflect some short-term pain, but in the long run, it is likely to cause greater distress.

1. Excellent, thanks for that link
That is a very concise explanation of what we are seeing IMO. I got on DU this morning and in general discussion I saw so much FEAR. It was huge. Despite the crazies just looking more and more lost, and being defeated on health care reform, they are still getting what they want with their emotional displays, OUR FEAR. Fear is exactly what terrorists want, going back to April 19, the OKla City anniversary (also my wedding anniversary, strange coincidence). The media feeds on spinning fear at every turn, one channel spinning to make the right scared, another spinning to terrify the left. We definitely need for truth to rise to the top, but for the patient to get well the infection may have to show itself in a major way first.

Very good timing on posting this. I was blown away by the fear of the emotionally unhinged people and their perceived power that I saw on DU this morning. I am used to liberals bickering with each other, making fun of the right, supporting progressive goals, but not the hands thrown up in the air fear.

3. Thank you
I think these are really important concepts that should be in the national psyche to help us understand how to deal with things and what is happening.

5. A brilliant and powerful analysis of victimhood and
effects on each of us personally and to our society at large.

I agree with your suggestion for implementing boundaries. Yet in order to set personal boundaries, it is necessary to
connect with a inner sense of personal empowerment. Every aspect of our mainstream culture is organized around distracting
us from this inner empowerment and encouraging us to identify with the victimized persona. No one us escapes
the experience of being victim, especially when we are vulnerable children. The traumas these experiences leave
resonates with the messages all around us further anchoring us in the victim role.. Many are left feeling as if they are sinking in
the quicksand of nothingness and will grab for the rescuer at hand whom ever that might be, later left feeling betrayed and
reinforcing the cycle once more.

So healing must include deepening the connections with inner empowerment and healing the traumas that support the
victim identity from the inside out.

7. Very, very well-said!
"the seething anger of every bully can be understood as the erupting outrage of an infuriated victim."

Yes!

How wonderful to have found your post...I am attempting to clear my own victim role, and the energies right now are forcing it to occur. I am very uncomfortable but am thankful that there may finally be an end to this problem.

You are very insightful and a very good writer!
