Tarot Reading - Cindy Sheehan/Anti-War Movement
READING - Prediction
DATE – 8-18-05
SUBJECT – Cindy Sheehan/Anti-War Movement

CARDS 1, 2, 3. PRESENT ENVIRONMENT

1) Five of Wands (R) - Generosity, new business opportunities. Victory after surmounting obstacles. Generosity and cooperation, disputes settled, good working relationships with others and the opportunity for partnerships are indicated by this card. (Camp Crawford, and the amazing co-operation and love between so many different factions, small successes so far.)

2) Queen of Wands - She has great power to attract that which she wants, and is fruitful in mind and body. Loving nature and her home, she is practical with money and sound in her business judgments. If she does not represent a woman, then she represents these qualities: success in undertakings; love of home and growing things; kindness and generosity. She knows what she wants and pursues it in a practical manner. This card indicates a success in business, love of home life, generosity and kindness. This card may also represent a woman with blond or red hair and blue eyes. (Cindy…obviously!)

3) Six of Pentacles - Alms dispensed with justice; gifts, inheritance. Gain in material undertaking. (All of the donations, from us here at DU and all over the world.) Others will share with you justly. (the other mothers and fathers who are there with questions). You will receive what you deserve. This card indicates that rewards and success are shared justly among many, perhaps a profitable business meeting or the recognition of one’s contribution to the success of a project. (Working together WORKS! ) :)

CARDS 4, 5, 6. ELEMENTS OF THE QUESTION

4) Six of Wands - Good news. Victory after strife. Pleasure gained through labor. Success through industry. Advancement in the arts and sciences. Friends are helpful. (that’s an understatement! Look at what has been achieved in just 12 days!) There may be good news of a victory or achievement or the aid of friends.

5) The Magician - Will, mastery, organizational skills, creative talents. ( I flashed on Crowley when I read this – she was just on Democracy Now! Friday, she is in charge of the camp logistics.) The ability to take the power from above and direct it through desire into manifestation. Use your will to seize opportunities and create your destiny. The tools are at hand to achieve your goal, and with practice and concentration success is guaranteed. Risks and investments bring great rewards. An exciting new venture or friendship may be in store, or if in the past, still continuing successfully. This card also indicates good health and recovery from any present illness. ( I hope this refers to her Mom!)

6) Ace of Wands - Beginning of an enterprise, invention, or the beginning of a family. (This is just the beginning of a real Peace Movement!) Perhaps the beginning of a journey, an adventure, an escapade. (! :) ) Good news. Perhaps an invitation or a letter (or a comment from a Shrub in his speech?) :P that brings the announcement of some pleasurable activity or a productive encounter that leads to the beginning of a successful enterprise involving money or family interests.

CARDS 7, 8, 9. OBSTACLES TO BE SURMOUNTED / HOW SURMOUNTED

7) Five of Swords - Failure, defeat. :( Degradation. (the smear campaign) Conquest of others. Unfairness, slander, cruelty, cowardliness. (Freepers and the Media/Administration, I’m assuming) This card indicates danger. There is a way out of the situation, but not without a struggle. Be on guard against unfairness, dishonor and cruelty. This card warns of a possible defeat or loss caused by an enemy, even if that enemy is yourself. (Some damage from the smears then. bummer)

8) Two of Swords (R) - Release, movement of affairs, (we have just passed the ‘tipping point’, and the momentum is building exponentially now.) :) sometimes in the wrong direction. :( Avoid impostors. Sympathy for those in trouble. Disloyalty. There is disloyalty and duplicity. Beware of impostors or a dormant situation that may begin to worsen. Have sympathy for those in trouble, but do not compromise or overextend yourself on another’s behalf. (A spy? just some pitiful person creating a lie to feel important?)

9) King of Swords (R) - Distrustful, suspicious. Also harsh and malicious. Plotting, barbarity, power for disruption is revealed. He is a barbarian, harsh, violent, and cruel. Trusting no-one, he uses evil and wickedness to achieve his power. This card warns of bad intentions, deceptions, plots and machinations. This card may also represent a man with brown eyes and brown hair. (Oh shit! A lying traitorous SPY! I hope he/she isn’t able to cause too much damage.)

CARDS 10, 11, 12. WHAT WILL COME UNBIDDEN

10) The Fool (R) - Folly, indiscretion, thoughtless action. The choice is likely to be faulty. This card indicates an indiscretion or unwise action. Inattention to details, hesitation or apathy can lead to trouble. Discipline and action are needed, despite the unpleasantness of the task. (a slip of the tongue? a hippy who can't keep their pants on?) :P

11) Knight of Cups - A young man who is graceful, poetic, but indolent. He is a dreamer of sensual delights. Can mean the bringer of a message, a proposition, an invitation. He is an ardent lover and dreamer, a passionate suitor who may bring an invitation or proposition or message of love. This card may represent a boy with hazel eyes and light-brown hair.

12) Queen of Cups (R) - A perverse character. Intelligent but not to be relied on. Dishonesty. Immorality. She is a perverse character, intelligent, but immoral and depraved. She is not to be trusted. This card warns against immorality and dishonor. This card may represent woman with light-brown hair and hazel eyes. (more than one freeper sounds likely. It’s really too bad that there are people out there so twisted up in the head that they have to work so hard at fucking up a wonderful thing like a peace movement that might freakin SAVE THE WORLD! idiots.)

CARDS 13, 14, 15. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO ACHIEVE

13) The Sun (R) - Future plans clouded, trouble in marriage, (the divorce? it’s so sad) a broken engagement, possible loss of a job or home. A full cup, but not one that runs over is indicated by this card, for this is the card of the simple pleasures of life. Take time to enjoy the happiness and rewards of steady, even progress. Although it is not brashly trumpeted, the simple contentment of a quiet success brings happiness and peace to everyone. (I can live with that on my conscience.) :)

4) Seven of Wands - Victory through courage. Success against opposition. The Querent has the position of advantage. Competition in business or trade. Certain success. This is the card of valor. It signals negotiations, competition, and success against opposition. You have the upper hand and will win through the courage of your own convictions,. Be prepared to defend what you know is true. :patriot:

15) Four of Pentacles - Assured material gain, success. Earthly power, but leading to nothing beyond it. Gifts, legacy, inheritance. May indicate a miserly, ungenerous character. This is the card of the miser. Guard against being ungenerous or insecure with your success, for this card indicates income and material success, but little more than clinging to what one already has. Another meaning of this card is a legacy or inheritance. (I’m going with the legacy we will leave as the greatest Peace Movement of this century, and the inheritance we will leave our children by participating in this revolution of the spirit.)

Please chime in and tell me what you see…

1. Good reading. Two cards stand out to me that frequent my
readings too are the Queen of Cups and to a lesser extent the Page of Cups, whom I percieve as a messenger of sorts, maybe a news reporter who will blow the lid off of everything.

12. Maybe our own from DU.
:-) The cards aren't saying yet. The facts are that the most visible talking heads right now are just spewing propaganda. The messenger, it seems will come from outside the mainstream, but will probably have something that strikes a cord where it develops a life of its own like Camp Casey. No one will be able to ignore it or shut it down.

8. He's got to be in there somewhere.
It would be strange if Li'l Boots weren't somewhere in the reading, and Obstacles is the right place for him. (Hoo boy, is it!) The spy/provocateur is already present in the Two of Swords, and possibly implied in The Fool, as well.

10. Like Cheney and Rove
I keep getting the feeling there are more evil powers (other people) behind these forces that we don't even know about yet.

4. Looking at the last three
I felt this would be a tenuous situation. Since it was your reading I felt as if I couldn't interpret it well.

I pulled three cards for clarification of the outcome specifically regarding the antiwar movement. I ended up with two major arcana and the seven of wands in the center as you did. (no reversals)

1. The basis of the situation.
Death: A major inner transformation. Not fun but well worth it. The country will go through re-birth pangs in order to come out of this. Also signifies the reason for the anti war movement.

2. Where it's leading.
Seven of wands: Deep, emotional, impassioned struggle to change/hold on to something. Bringing awareness to the surface through the first card.

3. The outcome.
Magus: The ability to make changes in the direction of choice. The ability to do it all successfully. There will be no stopping this once it gets going.

My take after clarification is the same as yours. It will be very powerful and painful but successful.

5. Nice read!
For the most part it's very positive and seems to go along well. I love the last part. I think Cindy will be remembered as well for years to come. Hopefull someday when I have children and they are in high school learning US History they'll get to learn about Cindy and the peace movement and I'll get to share my things with them on Cindy. With the lover I was thinking of this guy:

Is he married or anything like that? They seem to be good friends. I think her mom will be okay. I don't sense anything terribly bad with her. I do agree there will be a lot of struggles with this but in the end we'll come out strong and winning. Which is such a good sign because we have to win this battle.

is someone who also lost a son in this war.
