Psychic removed predictions about hurricane - while Katrina threatens

Mary Bogart's predictions were given. Now these have been removed.

I think it was because she predicted that Hurricane Irene would devastate Louisiana, and it didn't. Now the predictions on her site say "coming soon!"

But today it looks as though Katrina will, or could hit Louisiana. Could this be the storm she meant to predict?
It has been a long time since a category 4 storm hit the Louisiana coast on a direct hit. Camille in 1969 killed 256 people. Since that time, many more people have moved to the Gulf Coast.
I'm hoping all of those people are able to evacuate safely, and send them good vibes.

1. I've been thinking about that prediction since Katrina was

slated to cross FL and move into the Gulf, and almost haven't been able to get it off my mind today.

What a lot of people don't understand is that these things are SO fluid, and a prediction can be good as gold today, but everything shifts tomorrow due to factors which aren't foreseeable. The other problem is that the predictions usually have to come thru the individual psychic's personal filters -- her language, her frame of reference, her value system even. LOL -- it's not going to be an exact science for quite some time.

The prediction also mentioned a lot of damage to Jacksonville, FL, which didn't happen with either storm. For me, having been around psychics all my 57 years, that doesn't bother me at all. Imprecision is the nature of things, and the POINT of prediction of negative events is to try to avoid the predicted event, so there's a built-in error rate IF the whole process is successful.

3. This was my thought as well

I'm a bit concerned. I also agree that we can't expect perfect hits from humans. I just finished writing a thought similar to this in another thread.

Most sounded very bad. A building in Denver will come down, 14 years in Iraq, a draft. (Although - all believable.)

Like Eloriel said, a lot of things can influence psychic impressions. The two names are eerily similar, so I don't think she was that far off.
The influence of Neptune with this storm is clear, so I am very worried for everyone near this storm. The freeways are completely clogged already - frightening!

You guys will do anything to prove some shyster right.
These people who make their living off our misery should not be given so much credibility. I've checked up on this psychic, and she is of the same ilk as Browne and that guy -- what was his name --who was on TV and got canceled.

Remember, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

8. Geez, I wasn't attempting to prove anyone right

or wrong, simply commenting that the names were eerily similar. Personally, I don't use psychic predictions, preferring to go by my own instincts. I don't watch Browne, don't buy her books, and I'm not even sure who the other person is to whom you refer.
I don't follow Gurus either, and I'm also no "guy".

9. Jonathan Edwards.

On Mary Bogart's website she has a link to Jonathan Edwards and Silvia Browne.
I just find these people to be a bit self-seeking, that is all.
Sorry if I sounded, well, if I sounded bitchy.
And "you guys" sounded better than "you people."
I think if someone says they are a psychic medium,and they have a web site and put up predictions, they should also be willing to leave the predictions up even if they missed the mark.
Otherwise it makes them look as contrived as I think they are.

12. I kind of agree with you Pink Tiger.

Many of the self-professed psychics are not as accurate as they want people to believe they are. I'm particularly skeptical about Browne.

Most psychics are as good as their last prediction. Some get lucky and try to capitalize on it when they're right but I think some prey on the vulnerable.

I DO believe in psychic phenomena, however, and there ARE people who are gifted. It's just that anybody can claim to be psychic, most of us have the ability, but not ALL are that convincing.

I didn't forget that thread. I remember commenting on it a while back. I thought it was odd that she was able to even predict the name of the hurricane - Irene.

I even went to her web site and read her predictions. I posted that they all sounded plausible. When Irene came and went, I simply dismissed it as a failed prophecy.

When Katrina came along, I started to re-think her prediction. I was going to go back and re-check what she wrote, and then I stumbled on this thread.

Interesting that it was the one directly after Irene. I'll wait until her web site is up again to review her other predictions.

11. What bothers me about those original predictions?

They sound a bit too "Jeane Dixonish" for me.
She knews the buzzwords to use to get people excited:
"die in office," "Atlantis," "volcano," etc.

The prediction regarding the hurricanes was a no-brainer, anyway. We have been told by the National Weather Service that a strong possibility exists this year for strong storms -- so it was just a matter of going to the list and "summoning the spirits" to get a name.

The quake watchers have been watching Yosemite and the New Madrid fault for quite awhile, too.

Homeland security experts have already predicted another terrorist attack on U.S. soil -- just a matter of time.

I'm no psychic, just an empath, and I do not believe in spirits or spirit guides (my choice) - but allow me to make some predictions:

Another deadly category 4 or 5 storm is coming this year. It will strike in late September, and will more than likely hit Florida, then scoot up the eastern seaboard of the U.S. before dissipating somewhere over the Appalachians. It will do a lot of damage and spawn a bunch of tornadoes. I base this on a gut feeling.

A new wave of activism is coming in the U.S. - and like the ones in previous generations, it won't be all sweetness and light. The movement is already happening, but it hasn't picked up momentum yet. Look for next summer to bring out anti-Bush rallys with a strong anti-Wal-Mart and anti-oil flavor. There will be martyrs. New music will come from it, music with a distinct country music twang.

I do not believe a terrorist attack of the same magnitude as 911 will happen in the near future in the U.S. However, I do believe there will be some smaller attacks, and it is possible that not all the evil doers will be Al Quaeda operatives. Desperate times bring desperate acts, unfortunately. We need to be ready for more domestic terrorism, and remember that Oklahoma City was brought about by local boys.

We will be getting out of Iraq sooner rather than later. The heat is on Bush to do something about the war; if he has any hope of his brother having a shot at the White House, he must act to bring troops home. A draft would be a stupid political move. He isn't that dumb.

Something is going to happen in the next few years that will dramatically change the way our government operates. People won't change without being forced to change -- think of your own lives. We have to have it happen TO us first. Some of the change will come about because of citizen unrest. Some will come about because of forward-thinking minds that get in power in Congress.
Change is inevitable. It is starting to look as though our current government is too large and can no longer sustain itself comfortably. I keep hearing rumbles about breaking up the US into smaller units, and I think this is coming. It may not happen for another 25 years, but I believe it has to happen. One president can't deal with all the issues; and putting one person in charge of all that with so much power in one pen is just too much power. I also think the court system needs change, and Congress, of course, will change. I believe we will become a federation republic, with representatives from each federation making some decisions for the whole but each individual cluster of states allowed to govern itself to a large extent. Decentralization is the key.

And people will die in office and volcanoes and earthquakes will happen, and tsunamis may occur. We do, you know, live on Earth.

Also, I think it is very possible that a woman will be elected President in 2008. Long Live Hillary!!!!
