First, let me address the "less helpful." It may just be that you're not seeing the changes as clearly or that the changes are more subtle so far or that the changes take a little longer, etc. Plus, it's like peeling an onion, even for a specific issue. If you achieved what you considered good success on this right away, you'd still find yourself probably coming back for more help when you were ready to reach a higher plateau. The woman whose class I attended lo those many decades ago had a saying she repeated frequently, and it's the one thing that really stuck in my mind: "Trust the process." She also told us that it's possible for something to worsen before it improves -- which can also happen with many other types of alternative healing, including homeopathy, etc.
You might consider sticking with Larch a bit longer, or don't forget you can combine essences into one formula -- up to 5 (actually more when you're quite used to using and picking them). Odd number of essences (3 or 5) are said to enhance their action while even numbers (2 or 4) supposedly soften the effects. ALSO -- perhaps you know all this -- POTENCY is based on frequency of dosage, not how many drops you take at one time. 2 - 3 drops are sufficient, and there is no limit to how often you can safely take them (because they are totally safe and benign, of course).
For Bach, what I might suggest you look at and consider adding include:
Centaury - Difficulty saying no, people-pleasing Cerato - Lack of confidence in making decisions, turn to others for input. Chestnut Bud - For one who repeatedly makes the same mistakes and never learns from the past. If you repeat the same destructive patterns of behavior and/or relationships. Crab Apple -- Poor self-image, esp. physical condition or appearance Gentian - If easily discouraged by small problems, doubt yourself and feel depressed.
But actually, I'd be tempted to move away from the Bach and go to Flower Essence Services, which is the other line most likely to be available at some healthfood stores or they have a pretty good presence online. For me, they seem to pack a quicker, more obvious wallop. :D I don't have their entire catalog handy, but here are some that I have in my notebook (and some of these are going to seem less directly applicable than others, but I'm includig them anyway so you can see the range of possibilities, and maybe find some that apply -- self-esteem is a BIG subject, with many, many facets!):
Baby Blue Eyes -- Childlike innocence and trust; feeling at home in the world, at east with oneself, supported and loved, connected with the spiritual world.
Blackberry -- Exuberant manifestation in the world; clearly directed forces of will; decisive action. (It's also an energy tonic. I put this in my water bottle if I'm going to be doing something physically challenging or tiring, like a long day of shopping, etc., and it works beautifully. Sublte, but definite if you're paying attention.)
Calla Lily -- Clarity about sexual identity; sexual self-acceptance, balance of masculine and feminine qualities.
Cayenne -- Fiery and energetic, inwardly mobile, capable of change and transformation. (Cayenne is also an enhancer for FE formulas -- helps boost their action and efficacy.)
Corn -- Alignment with Earth (grounding! Often useful in a lot of situations where one might not automatically think of it, or think of it first).
Dogwood -- Grace-filled movement, physical and etheric harmony. Imbalance: Awkward and painful awareness of the body; emotional trauma stored deep within the body (which can often be part of the cause of the poor self-esteem).
Golden Ear Drops -- Contacting one's childhood experience as a source of emotional well-being; releasing painful memories of the past. Imbalance: suppressed toxic memories of childhood; feelings of pan and trauma about past events which affect present emotional balance.
Indian Paintbrush -- Lovely, energetic creativity, exuberant artistic activity (this is esp. for artists and any/all creative pursuits)
Larkspur -- Charismatic leadership, contagious enthusiasm, joyful service
Madia -- Precise thinking, disciplined focus and concentration
Mallow -- Warm and personable, open-hearted sharing and friendliness
Oregon Grape -- Loving inclusion of others, positive expectation of good will from others; ability to trust. (This one is an old standby for me. I almost always use it when I'm going to be doing something with strangers, whether giving a talk or workshop, as I used to do, or meeting a bunch of people who are strangers, etc. It ALWAYS helps me not just expect "good will from others" but to receive it as well. Amazing stuff.)
Pretty Face -- Beauty that radiates from within; self-acceptance in relation to personal appearance. (I've found this one quite powerful as well. They all are, but this one is especially wonderful when needed -- when feeling old, ugly, fat, whatever.)
Rosemary -- Warm physical presence; embodiment; vibrantly incarnated. (Hah! Who couldn't do better at all that?) Imbalance: Forgetfulness, poorly incarnated in body, lacking physical/etheric warmth; higher ego forces which are not integrated with the physical body.
Self-heal -- Healthy, vital sense of Self; healing and beneficent forces arising from within oneself, deep sense of wellness and wholeness. (This is another that's good to add to a formula for many different things. When one is physically ill, it helps the body raise its own subtle energy for the task of healing. You simply feel more capable of DOING the healing, more directed and focused and more healing in much the same way, only it may be not as noticeable.)
Trumpet Vine -- Articulate and colorful in verbal expression; active, dynamic projection of oneself in social situations. Imbalance: Lack of vitality or soul force in expression; inability to be assertive or to speak clearly, impediments in speech.
I'm sure there are many others. Another I'd recommend, NOT from either of these two lines, tho, is Freedom From Fear by Angelic Essences. I believe you can google for this line as well. This is an incredible essence that I wouldn't be without, just as I wouldn't be without Rescue Remedy.
Good luck! Come back and let us know how you/they do. Remember: Trust the process. :-)
