She was my fave out of the whole family. My Mother's Mother, our lives mirror eachother in ways that are strange & amazing. She passed when I was 13...
She was my role model capricorn woman, telling my dad at the age of 76 that he wasn't chopping wood right and showing him how to do it ;)
She was in an abusive marriage and kicked her drunk husband to the curb when it was unheard of to be a woman alone with kids.
Her kids ages and spacing is exactly the same, an older son and two little ones...
Her voice and spirit has helped me through many times in life, when my first husband left and i was wondering what to do with his laundry, it was HER voice i heard loud & clear "I ain't washing NO man's dirty socks!" (which was her reply when i asked her as a teen why she never remarried, lol)
It was HER spirit that showed me the legacy of abuse that I was breaking for MY daughter the day before I left my abusive ex. ~~~~ So last night, I was in this classroom, and the teacher was my Ma-maw...she looked more spry than her last years, dressed just so in a 1950's style dress and a white sweater over her shoulders. She kicked out the troublmakers in class, "I'm not puttin' up with any of that foolishness," she said. And when she finally set her eyes on me, she smiled and said "you look great sweetie, doin' real good for yourself." I hugged her and couldn't let go, i could feel the softness of her sweater and smell her ...
She continued to set the class in order and I got the feeling that she was a teacher in the afterlife, that this was her gig for now. And she was imparting stength to women, it was an all female class.. Her lingering message as I awoke...as she chucked me under the chin.
"Don't let anyone tell you you're less, honey..."
