I can't believe I started a Facebook group, but I did, LOL. Here is what happened. My daughter and grandson met my son in law for dinner, and drove home about 8:30 PM. They drove a very well traveled route, which took them under a viaduct. Both their cars got clobbered with concrete, as did a long string of cars after them. Some heavy concrete barely missed my three year old grandson. My daughter was very freaked out. The police took a report from a whole group of cars. I called the newspaper so that they could publish a warning about this area. The police refused to confirm anything and said that Central Records would be open on Monday.
In the meantime, this happened to other cars at the exact same location two times on Saturday, and one time on Sunday. The newspaper finally got some information and published a story on this on both Monday on Tuesday. The police were quoted as saying that they were aware of the situation and were periodically monitoring the area and were asking the citizens for help. I find that a bizarre response to what I consider to be a serial attempted murder from the same location throughout the weekend. Anyone could have been killed by this concrete. Anyway, the area is very dangerous because there is a lot of unkempt shrubbery, and a bunch of loose concrete, no fence, and no lighting.
I called the mayor's office and the woman I talked to agreed with me that the response was bizarre, and she took my number and said she would have someone call me. That hasn't happened yet.
So, I started a Facebook group, LOL, with pictures and everything. So far there are three members but I am hoping that this information, including the Facebook page, will be in the newspaper tomorrow. It is kind of embarrassing to start a Facebook page, especially with so few people in the group, so if you are the type to join random Facebook pages, send me a PM and I will send it to you. I realize that this is a local issue, so I won't take it personally if you don't want to join (I might not, if it weren't my city).
The important thing is that so far, by pure luck, nobody has been injured.
Thanks everyone.
