Weird Dream Thread -- Cmon, post 'em here
Okay, looks like it's weird, freaky dream time, so I figured I'd start a thread where we can post them.

I'll start -- posted this in another thread, but it was such an odd dream, it's still with me. I dreamed that I was getting married -- going through all the pre-wedding motions of hair, make up, nails, help with the dress, etc. I finally get to the ceremony which is being held on the front stoop of what looked like a brownstone walk up apartment building, and find that the man I'm marrying is Eddie Izzard (I do think he's hysterically funny). Now I notice that he and I are wearing the exact same dress, and he looks better in it than I do. I hate that so I quickly put a hooded shrug on over my dress, and get it all tangled up in my hair.

That's it. Woke up after that.

Who wants to try to interpret that?

1. LMAO!!!!!

Really, I got nothin' -- no intepretation, nothin'.

I'm just

I hope I have a weird dream so I can chime in here tomorrow.

Thank you for the belly laugh!

2. K, truly, I LOVE this dream of yours!
Edited on Tue Sep-14-10 05:57 PM by MorningGlow
Doncha just hate it when the cross-dressing spouse looks better in the dress than you do?

Must think more on the interpretation though...

On edit: calling Kentauros! He's a huge Eddie Izzard fan--maybe he's got some wisdom to offer!

3. Yes I do
And the dress was so pretty. Sleeveless, jewel neckline on a fitted bodice, very slightly dropped waist, and extremely full skirt falling just below the knee.

On a positive note, though, we appear to be about the same size so we could likely have shared wardrobe.

7. Now THAT'S putting a positive spin on it!

Okay, after thinking about this for a while, I'd say that my best guess is that Eddie was representing another aspect of yourself. You said you like him and think he's funny--perhaps then it's a part of you that you also love--or SHOULD love, if you don't already. And it's good that you were joining together in a sacred union of, let's face it, equals--right down to the choice of clothes! :D

The reason I'm offering this interpretation is because I know that lots of times we symbolize a part of us that we need to embrace as a member of the opposite sex (well, for straight people, anyway) that we "find love" with in the dream. I know this has happened to me several times, and each time the person in the dream (always famous people for me too) is not actually a romantic interest or even a possible, potential romantic interest.

Hope this resonates with you, but if not, please to loving toss to the curb! :)

16. Yes, it does resonate
Makes perfect sense. For the last 10 years I've been forced to keep my fun-loving, zany self under wraps because of the job I had. I no longer work there, but I'm still having a hard time getting my sense of the absurd back. And I do so long for that.

Thanks MG

4. Not a weird dream, but ... Spirit was trying to get my attention
(crossposted from another thread)

The guy I've been seeing moved about 200 miles away for a new job on Sept 1 and about a week prior I started having dreams - almost nightly - in which I'd catch him with other women. I just kinda shrugged them off as the insecurity of the move/where our relationship stood, etc. Last weekend I stumbled across a personal ad he put up on an online dating site - 2 WEEKS BEFORE HE MOVED (a friend sent me a link to the ad for a guy she'd been chatting, and in the 'people you may be interested in' teaser, up popped ol' Andy! :wow: )!!!

So the dreams - and/or Spirit - were definitely trying to tell me something.

I ended our acquaintance on Monday and I'm still having dreams. Not sure if now it's just 'day residue' and anger processing itself on a subconscious level but ... they can stop now. :( I'd like a peaceful night's sleep, please.

5. Oh Yeah! You were getting a big fat message
Sorry this happened to you, and I hope the dreams go away now that spirit has caught your attention.

Here's to better times without that clown.

6. WOW
That's really something, Myrina. I'm sorry it was an unhappy message for you, but it is good that your guides alerted you to it before you got more serious with the guy. Who, by the way, is a weenie. IMO. ;)

13. thanks to both of you for the comments ...
... i have started meditating in the evenings again and i think once i have a good, cleansing cry, i'll be over him. We were an odd & awkward pairing to begin with.

i'm planning on renting a few of the old standards this weekend (Amelie, Under the Tuscan Sun, Love Actually) to facilitate my cry-therapy.

14. Very healthy
You'll do great.

Wonderful movie selections, BTW. I would also suggest adding Kieslowski's Red if you have the time. It's one of my favorite love stories. The other two in the trilogy (Blue and White) are great as well, but not love stories.

I thought that was just for predictions and the like. Didn't mean to step on any toes.

I'll be happy to delete this thread if you want.

I'm with Kookaburra--I always thought of your thread as more for psychic hits, less so for dreams that need interpreting on a personal level.

19. oooh! i got one!
the lead-in was strange too...but that is in fragments...

There was this house, and it obviously was more like my parents' Tahoe cabin. (and we know practically the whole neighborhood on that street too) I was putting together this surprise party, and half the people left to go up to the casinos and play and never came back, so the surprise was kinda screwed. Instead i remember handling the decorations, which were more like someone's personal stuff..like we were re-doing the cabin for someone to move in?
then the dream changed...

there was this girl and her boyfriend and we were all hanging out together. I was like the ugly stepsister, (without the ugly.lol) But they were all over eachother, and really flaunting their love, and I got fed up watching it. her whole attitude was like "can;t you just be happy for me" and i was like ya, not when you're snoggin on the couch next to me watching a movie!
so i started to get even...

I made a mock image of her on the mirror, in lipstick or something, pointing out her arrogance and narcissism
I stopped being such a good friend and keeping my mouth shut, I would comment openly about her other boyfriends and how she treated them
when she said she was super health conscious, I'd pull the icecream out of the fridge and say, "isn't this yours?"
just really snarky stuff

mostly, I remember the thrill of how good it felt to finally stop being a doormat and take up for myself...

weird

20. Decorating or "redecorating" yourself
Edited on Thu Sep-16-10 10:59 AM by Kookaburra
for your own empowerment. That's what I'm getting.

It's time to step into yourself. Live for yourself and don't give fruity fart what other people think of it.

21. well i thought about it
as I was driving the kids to school...

the other girl is like the me I 'try' to be...perfect on the outside but still behaving badly
the me I am, is really the rebel, who doesn;t take shit from anyone :)

...and I am also thinking of cutting/coloring my hair for fall...for new jobs, etc...you're right - re-inventing myself is definitely the theme!

22. Here's a good one, if anyone wants to give it a go
In my dream, I was at an unknown place, in bed with a man I was extremely attracted to (no, this is not going to be x-rated -- or even r-rated for that matter). We were just talking -- discussing the day, current affairs, etc -- and my ex was sitting across the room with a woman I'd never seen and they were discussing us, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. The handsome man in my bed got up and said he had to go pick up his daughter, so he had to leave.

Jump scene to a hospital/medical facility where I see his daughter wandering the halls and stairwells. She's not upset, but she's looking for someone -- I'm guessing it's her dad. I go to her and when I see her face I realize she looks exactly like me when I was 3 years old. She's also deaf, and I try to sign to her -- wanting to tell her how pretty she is and to stay with me and we'll find her daddy -- but she won't look at me. Then someone I don't know comes and gets the little girl and takes her into a room, saying she'll babysit while I find her father.

Jump scene to a huge mansion (guess whose? right. the dad's), and I find the handsome guy, in the house on the phone talking about someone's cocaine addiction (possibly his -- it's not clear). For some reason we go outside and start digging in the dirt looking for something, when his ex wife shows up with the little girl. I'm confused, because the little girl doesn't look like either one of them. She looks like me, and I'm tempted to take her with me when I leave, but I know it will make both parents very sad to lose their little girl. Oh, and did I mention that they guy is wealthy? Old money -- family wealth.

That's it -- that's all I remember.
