November 2010 Prayer, Light and Healing Requests
I know that November is a depressing month for many people. The warm weather fades, the leaves fall, the animals hibernate. It's a month that feels like things are dying, shutting down, passing away.

But November is just as much about the earth settling in to rest and renew.

For me, November is a month of community. It begins with All Saints Day, which just sounds good (and it's my birthday, so maybe there'll be a party). There's often an election, where people come together at their polling place to make their voices heard, and I just love politics. November 15 is the start of deer hunting season here in Michigan, which many find offensive, I know, but here it's like some kind of bizarre barbaric statewide pagan ritual that involves whole families dressed up in blaze orange, gathered around a bonfire at the end of the day in a public place, with music, dancing, and drinking to celebrate the bounty of nature, in this case the bounty of deer, whose numbers are so great that the heard has to be thinned or they would all starve through the winter. Then there's a feast on the third Thursday, where we all give thanks, and it's always worthwhile, no matter how bad things get, to take a moment to give thanks for the good things in your life. Many people also get a four day weekend then, a chance to rest and renew. And, finally, the month ends with Black Friday, which is not a custom I embrace, but which has its merits for helping many retailers finally see a profit for the year's end, stimulating the economy just enough to keep us going for another year.

I wanted to include some pictures, but I just cannot figure out how. So visualize here a lovely November landscape, the ground littered with colorful leaves, the bare branches of a tree silhouetted against a hazy light grey sky, with a cold, quiet bit of river nearby.

And here are some healing quotes for November

"Healing," Papa would tell me, "is not a science, but the intuitive art of wooing nature." -- W.H. Auden

Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it. -- Helen Keller

Our sorrows and wounds are healed only when we touch them with compassion. -- Buddha

The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world. -- Marianne Williamson

Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future. -- Lewis B. Smedes

The soul is healed by being with children. -- Fyodor Dostoyevsky

The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love. -- Hubert H. Humphrey

Healing yourself is connected with healing others. -- Yoko Ono

We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion. -- Max de Pree

Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything, and love is all there is. -- Gary Zukav

And here please visualize a pair of healing hands, upraised, with a bright white-bluish light springing from them, surrounding them, surrounding everything, healing everything, healing us, healing our community.

I have not been posting for some time here, but I have been lurking. I sense that there are many people who are hurting, who need healing, who need this month to feel part of the community again, and who need to rest and renew.

So let's all dig in for November. Let's begin the month by appealing to whatever deities we embrace. Let's spend a little time intuitively wooing nature. Let's vote (for sure!). Let's bring our families together with music, dancing and celebration of the earth's bounty. Let's give thanks for whatever we have to be grateful for, because even the poorest of us, when compared to so many others in the world, have so much to be grateful for. Let's share what we can with those others, even if all we have to share is time and compassion. Let's take a moment to rest and renew. And let's end the month by doing what we can to stimulate the economy.

Thank you all, for your continued dedication to this site. You are an inspiration.

6. Beautiful, Callie ... looks like I have the first request ...
... would appreciate any light/supporting energy to be sent my way as I try to 'forgive and forget' and move past someone who was in my life recently.

I have a vicious mean-revenge streak that wants to exact my pound of flesh but the 'new-me' prefers to just let him go and move on.
I do forgive him (for being a product of his environment and not being conscious as he was unleashing his passive-aggressiveness & mixed messages on me) but I'm not sure I even want to contact him directly to say "I forgive you".

So anyway, the 'new me' wants to show the 'old me' that moving on doesn't mean that I have to run him over with a cement truck on my way forward.

Any positive vibes anyone can send are greatly appreciated and will be paid forward.

8. I feel you on the vengeful streak. I have one of those, and it *sucks.*
I strive for acceptance, not forgiveness, but more power to you if that's the route you want to go.

16. Hi BlueIris ..
... for myself, I need to do the forgiveness. Forgiving him (for the things I mentioned) and forgiving myself - for making a mistake in getting involved w/him in the first place.

It's a two-way street and I wouldn't feel closure unless I forgave us both. O8)

9. I am sending your way, Myrina.
I personally don't believe that you need to tell him that you forgive him. If you feel that you want to communicate it in some way to him, you could either just send the message into the ethers or write a note to him and never send it. You could even do a ritual around the note-writing exercise; write it and then burn it.

You may also want to cut the cord with him. That might help you to let go of your any destructive feelings that you might have in reference to the situation.

Good luck, my friend. Take it a moment at a time.

11. You don't have to contact him right now
Go ahead and forgive him, and later, when you're ready you can tell him. You may never get to that point, and that's okay too. You do whatever you are able to do. I'm sorry you and he were incompatible, but if he is unaware of being passive aggressive or sending mixed messages, chances are he will not understand why you are forgiving him.

Kudos to you for not acting on the "vicious mean-revenge" urge. As impossible as is seems sometimes, it really is best to forgive and move on -- no cement truck needed. It keeps us on a higher vibratory level.

Positive, love-filled light coming your way.

24. So I take it that it would be kinda snidely for me ...
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 06:21 PM by Myrina
... to say "I forgive you for X, Y and Z" if I ever do intend to mail that note ? ;-)

As part of this process, I also feel like I bear the responsibility of the relationship starting in the first place, and for that, I will ask his forgiveness. I knew better ... I could tell he had a crush on me the minute he first asked me out for coffee. And after that coffee-chat, it was pretty obvious that we would be a very odd couple, if a couple at all, so I should have been content to just have a new friend in my life & draw the border there. Instead, I made the next move and asked him out a couple days later. And the rest, as they say, is history.

(Oh yah, the final step in all of this is going to be forgiving myself for those very things I listed above, in addition to the anger and spite I felt when it fell apart.)

7. Writing this request before I even read your text.
I'm not getting my next round of epidural/cortisone shots to my back until 2 days before Thanksgiving. Much prayer and ZAPPING needed until then, as I am am losing my ability to walk. My legs are becoming leaden, and I can barely stand up any more. Even with the walker it's harder to walk each day.I may end up in a rehab facility after the shots, because I am unable to get back and forth to "curves" twice a week for therapy. I could use a wheelchair already. I even have trouble turning over in bed at night.I have to literally move my legs with my hands. My house is not wheel chair accessible, so you can see what I'm up against. I'm just hoping that after a month of therapy every day I can get strong enough to come back home. The alternative is a nursing home...and bye, bye kitty and my little "nest". I'm very sad and depressed, although each day I try to be positive and happy...I'm just so tired. Love to all!

14. a bit of a silly request (in light of more serious ones for healing)
but my sweet cat Riki did not come home last night. I fear for the worst. She *always* comes home at night & comes when I call her. The only reason she didn't come home, I fear, is because she can't.

She came to me shortly after I lost a cat who was precious to me & quite likely was a reincarnation of that cat, as her habits & quirks were very similar to the other one. She slept with me every night, would sit on my lap during the day or want to be snuggled. She's a very special cat & it's killing me not knowing where she is.

Please send her light & energy to make her way home, or if she can't, to find someone who will love & care for her.

thank you

dg

She's part of your family.

I will certainly send light her way and will ask that the Universe help her to find her way home. If this is not for the highest good, I ask that she be in a safe & loving place and that you are able to find peace in reference to the situation.

I went to the shelter to see if she had been brought in, but she wasn't there. I left my name & number with "Gabriel" (interesting name) who is in charge of the cats there, & showed him her picture. He said he'd call if he thinks she's there. I'm going to check in a day or so if I haven't heard anything.

I've wondered about that, but I've walked all over the street & close to my neighbors' houses & haven't heard her meow. :( She did once get herself locked in the next door's laundry room, but I heard her meow when I called her name. Yesterday & today, I call her name & nothing. I'm trying not to think the worst, but the longer she's gone, the harder it is to be hopeful.

54. Update: The prodigal cat has returned
First, thanks to everyone who sent some light & good vibes her way. :)

Second, she was precisely where I thought she might be (& someone else picked up on this too)---my neighbor's utility room. Now, mind you, this is where I focused most of my calling for her Monday & Tuesday, but I did not hear *one peep* from her on those days. It is unlikely that I missed hearing her, as this cat has a howl that can compete with fog horns. Very distinctive & hard to miss, especially in the middle of the night when everyone else is quiet. So this morning, when I'm out in my back yard, playing with the dogs, all of a sudden, I hear my cat yelling & howling from inside that little room! My neighbor opened the door & we were both stunned to see Riki come out! :wow: How she lasted 4 days & 5 nights in there, I'll never know. Why she didn't sound the alarm on Monday night, Tuesday morning, Wednesday, etc while I was calling her, I'll never know. Cats. :eyes:

So thank you again. Riki is found, & now driving me nuts again (she wants in, she wants out, she wants on my lap, she wants down, she wants to be held, she wants to run & play. :eyes: I guess she's got a few days of bossing me around to get out of her system. ;)

 to everyone, & a special  to others needling healing this month!

55. Excellent news Wolverine
So glad to hear she's okay. I wonder if she was in the utility room the entire time, or if maybe she ran in there later on. Unless she was injured or sick, it doesn't make sense that she wouldn't have raised the roof to get out of the room, especially if she heard you calling her. Cat's do the strangest things.

28. I don't want to be a downer, and I don't want to get into details, but
I have a really bad feeling about the situation with Congress. Not about the damage a Republican controlled House could do, but about what the larger end game is for the propagandists who set this up. Please envision a smooth November/December for President Obama and other Democrats (if you weren't already.)

They have gone through and continue to go through more than I can ever even imagine going through myself. Please send them love, light and energy to continue working through their situation so that they come out on the other side quickly and easily.

Anything that you send their way would be greatly appreciated. I'd especially like to ask that those who owe them step up and fulfill their obligations.

On her behalf, I thank you!

51. I ask for healing for my right thumb which is still asleep.
I pinched a nerve and my right thumb and index finger were hurting and numb.

I went to see a chiropractor 3x/week for three weeks and stopped going. It's better, enough that only the last joint of the thumb is asleep, but I got tired of driving to the chiropractor and didn't think it was helping enough.

Also I ask for protection and light for Amy and her three boys. She is the lady with the controlling, abusive husband I wrote about in R/T in the thread "I am sick and tired of having Christianity shoved in my face". I assume she has been forbidden from contacting us because he wants to isolate her totally. These are the kids I have to sneak books to. I don't know if there is anyone I can contact to help her. I have offered to help her get out but she has not done it yet. Mentally she is beyond caring what he thinks. She and the kids have no respect for him left. I am afraid that he would kill the family and/or himself if she tried to leave him.

There are no women's shelters or anything like that here. Rural, very conservative area.

52. I have been in the foulest mood for past week or so
If anyone knows of any meditations or perhaps some teas or something please pass along.I really need to calm the hell down. Had an anxiety attack Thursday at 1:30 a.m. I thought it was a heart attack, but then realized what it was -- similar to the attacks I had in college -- and called my brother and begged for one of his calm down pills. He had one left and gave it to me. I hated having to take drugs to calm down, but it was a bad night and I was presenting my new business to a networking group that morning at 9:00 a.m. I needed to sleep.

Thanks.

She was terrified of thunder storms -- to the point of peeing all over the place when one happened. If I knew one was on its way, I would put a drop on her tongue, and she would settle down. Still afraid, but not terrified.

Never thought to use it on myself. I'll see if there's any left and try it out. It can't hurt.

I worked with both of her parents, and remember very clearly when she was born. By the time the cancer was diagnosed, they had left the company, but that feeling of family never went away, so we all rallied and cried and prayed for this precious little girl who is having to battle such an enormous enemy.

Anyway, the local television station ran a segment about local blood collection sites, and featured Ib. Here's the link if you'd like to know a little about this sweetheart.

It's even worse when a child has to go through it.

From the article: "Family means a lot to Isabella. "Because I love my grandma, and I think my mommy is really special," she said. It doesn't matter if family is someone she knows or not; because anyone who's a donor will always be related by blood."

I will send light her way and will pray on her behalf, Kookaburra.

63. big sigh of relief here, today
Edited on Sun Nov-07-10 08:31 PM by northernlights
Holding my breath, logged in to find out my grade for latest Microbiology exam.

It's not just that I got 100 on the test last week.

My 1st test grade jumped 5 points. And my failed test grade jumped 7 points -- it's no longer a fail!!!!!!

I remember now that a classmate asked the instructor to review the grading on the last test, as it appeared she graded based on 100 points...but the student could only account for 90 points worth of questions. Apparently the student was right. And apparent the instructor made a similar error on the first exam, so had to go back, recalculate and repost the grades for both :D :D :D.

So now instead of righting like heck to keep from failing out of the program....I'm back in serious contention for an A in the course with a weighted average as of this moment of A-!!!!

I really wish I hadn't been put through the ringer of the last few weeks. I had planned something special a few weeks ago, and didn't do it because I was flat out studying in a depressed panic. Weather won't permit now, so it's back on hold until next year.

But I am SO RELIEVED. It's such a huge boost to be working for A average, as opposed to frantically slaving to stave off being dropped from the program in the llth hour!

I wasn't even going to give me my 1 day every 2 weeks off from studying today...but after I found the grades, I gave myself the day. Rented a movie, hunkered down with popcorn, brownie, Vodka and oj, and karamel sutra ice cream :D Made up for kind of dismal b-day last weekend :D :D :D

71. You and me both, sister
I was actually glad that Mr. MG stayed home sick from work today (not all that sick--I just grappled with the same ick for a couple of days myself, after getting it from MG Jr., the font of all illnesses in the family, so I know it's not deadly) because that way I knew he wouldn't be sauntering up to the ATM at work and withdrawing his usual $60 ($63.50 with damned ATM fees) just to have cash in his pocket, nor would he be stopping anyplace after work to buy this or that. Payday is tomorrow. We're squeaking till then.

You know, I was just thinking about this issue--why we're going through it. I'm 44 and Mr. MG is 49--definitely not spring chickens. He has a good job. I bring in a small amount freelancing. Just made the last payment on his car. Took out a home equity loan to wipe out a debt consolidation loan so we're paying $150 a month (to home eq.) instead of $700 a month (debt consolidation loan), and yet we're more broke than ever. WHY????

So yesterday I was interviewing some New Age shopowners for an article, and they made a point of saying that they not only recommend other metaphysical shops to their customers, but also actively partner with other shops in the area to sponsor events, all with the belief that there is no lack--there is more than enough for everyone. They also bless every transaction in their store, wishing abundance to enter the lives of their customers as a thank you for sharing some of their money with the store.

Healthy attitude or what--they said that even in this recession, they've had to hire another person (now they have four employees) to keep up, and their profits are going gangbusters--up 10 percent last year and up 12 more percent this year.

When they told me that, I thought of your situation as well as mine, LD. We both have a lesson to learn, and I think it's to get rid of the fear we've attached to the green stuff. We fear that we won't have enough; we fear being in debt, being threatened by bill collectors, losing our house and being out on the street. And yet we both know that there is more than enough for everyone. So where's our gap that we have to jump--the one from fear to trust? I don't know the answer yet. But I like the idea of blessing transactions. That really rang a bell for me. I wonder if we could do the same in some way...?

74. You're right
it's just that sometimes, despite knowing full well the value of all of this (what you are saying: blessing and gratitude and etc.); I still have a fear in the back of my heart/mind. I can't seem to shake it sometimes. And to tell you the truth, I see my lack of money as the lack of other people's compassion - mainly those in the corporations, government and etc. that monopolize the utilities and government operations that constantly dog our existence. I know I need to give thanks for the fact that I even have the opportunity to have running water and electricity; but instead I think I'm upset about it because I think such things should be a basic fundamental human right, and how dare a corporation monopolize and control that. My dream is to go off the grid eventually - or at least provide most of my own water, heat/air comfort and electricity. If automobile engineering in this country ever gets it's head out of the sand; I should be able to power a vehicle off of that grid also.

I know what my problem is: I don't want anyone controlling/influencing me & my family's quality of life just because I've chosen to not live life like everyone else: with a 'regular' job making money to spend on everything. I don't want the moon; but I think we should all be able to live comfortable lives. A lot of people think that's a ridiculous dream. I don't know..maybe I'm just spoiled and naieve.

I most definitely have a serious problem with authority. Always have; but I manage to handle myself in situations where I have no choice but to deal with those in authority. This is also where husband and I part ways in thought: He speaks out to them; often in anger; and I choose to overcome their ideas in other ways (kill them with kindness; etc.)

I'm a child at brain-heart - I still have a hard time understanding that if I'm the kind of person I am - why am I having such a hard time? Somewhere in my childhood or even before I was born; I was convinced of the fundamental fact that if one came into this life and lived it as an expression of love, that everything would be ok (I know that it really IS ok, but you know what I mean) and Universe would provide. And it has, in most cases. But I guess I don't understand why it's necessary for me to have to learn whatever lesson 'the fact that we have $10 to last us until MONDAY' is supposed to be teaching me - AGAIN.

And I'm tired of feeling like a loser/user/beggar just because I've chosen to live my life the way *I* wanted to. (Part of that is my mother in the back of my brain, berating me for not finishing college "You'd have a great job by now!")

Arg. I'll get past this; I'm just very discouraged. Thanks for the talk. Huge hugs to you and family... :loveya:
Sorry, just train-of-thought-ing here.

75. OMG honey, do you see what you just posted?
There's your key right there: "My dream is to go off the grid eventually." Darlin' you're trying (subconsciously) to do it NOW. And that's not feasible at the moment, because we don't really have the resources in this country to do that in a simple, effortless manner. Add to that the fact that you resent having to pay companies for utilities, you feel defensive about your career/life choice, and garnish it all with the echo of your mother's judging voice in your head, and you're attaching enough negative energy to the green stuff (that is, in its essence, neutral until we all attach an energy to it) that you are, forgive my bluntness, well and truly fucked.

I hope you don't think that's too harsh--I don't mean it that way. No blame attached--we fall into these mindsets without realizing it. But think about it for a while. IMO, if you pay closer attention to the way you feel when you pay bills, and neutralize whatever negative feelings or fear you generate when you do, you might find the road will get less bumpy. Worth a try, anyway?

76. No, I agree totally..
I know, understand and recognize what is holding me back..it's just that I haven't seemed to be able to find a way to get past it. (Oh - I feel defensive about my life career choice ONLY to my mother - who is no longer here - so those two are very hand-in-hand. I know others don't judge me for it; but I feel as if society/corporations/government sort of does,in a roundabout way. It's very confusing).

I dunno, I just seriously must have been born with a stubborn belief that love conquers all.Including utility bills. LOL.

I've really tried to turn around any negative energy I have towards bill-paying. I even wrote on my ($1000) electric bill "Thank you for the money!" (as The Power book suggested) and really tried to feel grateful for the fact that they provided the service to me. It didn't seem to make any difference - I misread the due date on the bill; the power got shut off; and you remember my post about 'what lesson was I supposed to learn?' from that.

There have been other situations where I've really tried to change my vibration about bills and money and etc. I make time to be grateful every day for what is in my life - and who. I stop and 'smell the roses' so to speak, as often as possible. I try to re-direct my thinking when I catch myself falling into old habits of negativity.

I'm really making an effort. So I guess I don't understand when it doesn't seem to matter.

77. I know how you feel
I, too, do everything "right" when it comes to money. I keep our bills organized and pay them on time. We don't waste money, but on the other hand I don't hang onto it too tightly.

However, I think I might be influenced by my mom. She grew up during the Depression and really gives me hell if she thinks I'm spending too much money on just about anything, from food to clothing to birthday presents for MG Jr. So I think I've got that guilt hanging over my head, which gives me unpleasant fearful feelings.

I guess we just have to keep on tracing it back and back and back until we uncover the most underlying reason for our difficulties. Of course, when I figure out what that is, I'll let ya know!

*MY* mother grew up during the depression, as did my father (born 34 and 33, respectively). I wonder if not only are we carrying their attitudes; but some of their energy about it.

Now that's something to think about.

**UPDATE: as soon as I went to go get husband from court ; now things are moving again! We got a call and can go pick up his paycheck TONIGHT. I just *knew* I was waiting for this court date to be over to move things. Balance restored (somewhat). I beleive I need to work on my trust in the Universe. Duh. ;)

70. Prayers and vibes for court hearing, please.
My husband and I are meeting in court for the first time tomorrow, because I'm asking for temporary orders for custody and child support. I'm anxious, of course, but I have faith that the truth will prevail over lies and exaggerations. He's trying to play hardball, and he doesn't know that I'm aware of his strategy, and I also know that the facts don't support his accusations.

Please pray with me. I'm praying for calm, and patience. Forgiveness, too, so that I can keep it in my heart. I don't wish him ill, I just want to be free and for our son to have the healthiest home life possible.

I love this space. Thank you.

83. I'm with it..
after my crisis the other day, the Universe swooped in to provide at the last.possible.moment. Arg, but it certainly did smack me in the faith muscle. I am renewed and re-energized and willing to put that gratefulness to work.

86. Well ain't that sumpin--me too!
Just received a check in the mail today, in fact--Mr. MG had something fixed on his Saab several years ago that turned out to be a defect that would have been covered by a recall, so Saab reimbursed everyone who paid for the repair themselves. It's a very pretty check, and one I had completely forgotten was coming, so it's also kind of a pleasant surprise.

Now...I just have to figure out a way to keep Mr. MG from using it to buy a new TV, which we really don't need. (He has no concept of the level of our debt.)

and of course i fell on the ice

my body is is achey hell today, can't get an adjustment till tuesday
my sinuses are also swelling at the change in the dry air and i think i have an infection (which also means i can't take my enbrel for the arthritis flare cuz my immune system will be screwn)

and to top it all off...my cramps are reminding me how *absolutely lovely* it is to be a girl

 It's 11 on sunday and i stayed in bed as long as i could...but motherhood and life demand that i move forward

but I need some healing - seriously!!!

I'm going crazy getting things ready to get her on a plane later this afternoon, as she travels to Kentucky (with a layover in Chicago).

I welcome prayers and good thoughts when she's traveling...well, always and all ways.

Thanks muchly. :)

95. This isn't for me, but for my girlfriend, Maryanne
She's been feeling very down lately (kind of depressed) thanks to multiple factors where she lives (Christchurch, New Zealand.) Now with the recent deaths of the miners across the island from where she's at, it's that much more gloom added on.

She's very spiritually aware, like us, and as such very sensitive. I've sent her my energy throughout the week and am now asking for some help.

Here's a photo of her if it helps:

Thanks for whatever y'all can do! :hi:

101. I think many are like me...
and read these, send energy and prayers, but don't reply.

I know I THOUGHT I had replied to this previously, as I vividly recall in my mind telling you how lovely your girlfriend is.

I told you telepathically, don'tcha know. ;)

96. Uh-oh. You know that cold I've been fighting for 3 weeks?
Edited on Fri Nov-26-10 10:26 PM by Kookaburra
Well, it took a real turn for the nasty yesterday. Horrible cough, high fever, couldn't get a deep breath and when I tried it would send me into paroxysmal coughing fits. So, I hauled my sick self in to see the doc today, and was told I have sinusitis, bronchitis, and quite possibly a little touch of pneumonia, although he wasn't positive from looking at the xray. My oxygen level was 88, so they got nervous and gave me breathing treatment that raised it back up to 92 -- still not desirable, but barely acceptable -- by now the word "hospitbal" was being bandied about, and I explained my situation to the doc and begged him to let me try to get better at home. So he called in 3 prescriptions and made me promise to get to the ER if I start feeling worse, or breathing gets more labored. I promised.

So here I am, asking for energy. Many thanks!
