Post your predictions for tomorrow's election
here's mine:

Overall, I'm going to say that the Dems keep the house & senate and do better than the Republicans. In fact, there's a bit of a 'death knell' in it for the Repubs.

That said, there's going to be at least one very significant upset. I'm not sure who, but it may be Reid losing.

The Republicans will lament the money spent vs result equation.

There will be at least one lawsuit / court involvement which is instigated by the Republicans challenging the results.

1. I am feeling EXACTLY the same as you !
I've been tuning in to this, and especially here in Ct. the Rep. running for Chris Dodd's seat has spent MILLIONS of her own money, and I feel she is going to be very regretful over this. I wouldn't feel so bad about Reid losing if it weren't for who'd be winning! The woman is nuts!!I think that there will be LOUD cries of theft of the election by us from the repubs! (pot calling the kettle black!) Karma will play a big part in this years results.

3. Yeah, I think things will work out (mostly) for the best.
I did a tarot reading for the prediction I made. Just didn't want to include the cards (people always reinterpret them when I do, lol)

4. Rossi running against Murray in my state
he dragged the Governor's race out ridiculously long in recounts and court. He might try that shit again in the senate race. Some race will be in the courts I think.

20. It's easy to feel lost and disconnected...

especially on big sites, and even smaller sub-forums, like this.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I would look forward to you posting more.

6. Firstly, thanks for that nice Orwell reference in your sig line.
As of midnight last night, my pendulum was vacillating back and forth on whether the Dems would keep the House. My gut now says we won't. But I think we will keep the Senate. I also "get" Reid keeping his Senate seat, but surrendering his position as Majority Leader, which hurts me, as I've grown to like him.

16. That unfortunately is what popped into my head this morning
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 12:49 PM by Matariki
The major upset that I interpreted as possibly Reid's seat, I'm starting to fear was the House. The card was the Tower :-(

on edit: just wanted to add that the overall results looked better for the democrats in my reading, and definitely some unexpected good results. I'm really hoping that means we don't lose the house.

13. Thanks for the link!
I especially like this part:

Ultimately the shift is toward a new, more stable system. But instability is a hallmark of change. You have to unravel the current system in order to make space for the new system to be built. If you think of the two political parties in the U.S. as being on two sides of a pendulum, each election swings the balance of power toward one side or the other. As you move toward a system change, the swinging of the pendulum becomes stronger and more erratic. Eventually, the pendulum will break free, so to speak. It will no longer serve you to have a political system based on duality.

Love the last line (that I bolded)--makes perfect sense. If we are getting rid of duality on every facet of our lives, of course that should include our politics. We are witnessing the last throes of the old system (and thank goodness) but it's gonna be ugly for a while while that pendulum swings so drastically.

11. Not as bad for Dems as people think
I don't think it will be as bad for the Democratic Party as is predicted and preached by the media. I just get a feeling that the Republicans will end up feeling like after the big build-up to their expected night of unmatched ecstasy it will be a 30 second "wham-bam-thank-you-Ma'am" and not even a pack of cigarettes on the night stand.

12. I've been getting the "things are not as they seem" message for quite some time now
& suspect it's why we keep hearing about the "overwhelming" Republican victories predicted for today. Some in the MSM have picked up on it, but most are still touting the "Dems lose big, Republicans win big" meme.

15. Have any of the astrologers here
looked at the charts of various candidates? I think that might be more informative and useful rather than just a hopeful feeling.

Personally, I go between hoping it won't be all that bad, and being resigned to Republican control for the next couple of years and all the horrors that will bring.

21. Okay, this is a good example of how emotional involvement clouds divination.
The cards I got for the divination I originally posted were as follows

for the Democrats: The Tower & Knight of Cups (present/election) and The Hermit (longer term results)

for the Republicans: Six of Pentacle & Justice (present/election) and Death (longer term results)

Final overall card was The Fool.

Clearly I was ignoring what I didn't want to see - The Tower, also called The House of God, should have clearly shown the loss of the House. I wanted to interpret it solely as an upset to the card with it - the knight of cups.

The six of pentacles coupled with Justice really shows the influence of the Citizens United ruling and consequent influence of money on the election.

SO - going forward - The Hermit for the Dems, Death for the Republicans.

The Democrats need and will get better advisors (someone other the Tim Kaine)? The Republican party will go through a major transformation (via the teaparty?) or become obsolete(?) Longer term, this looks better for the Democrats to me - better for the 2012 election. I see the Fool card as an indication to not worry too much, things will work out. Either that or we're in the process of collectively dancing off the cliff.

I don't think I'm objective enough when it comes to politics to do readings like this :-(
