Natural News is not characterizing this research accurately. This research seems to have nothing at all to do with the planets, and everything to do with exposure to light, and how the circadian rhythms at the time of birth can affect the offspring (mice).

2. The best explanation for astrogenetics that I have seen so far

is in Appendix 2A of The Mayan Prophecies by Adrian G. Gilbert and Maurice M. Cotterell. It is much too detailed to cover here, but it is worth a read.

It involves the earth being exposed to solar particles of alternating polarity.
